Mooredge B&B — Hotel in Great Britain

Very welcoming couple. Nice decor, rooms very spacious, tea and coffee in the room. Not to mention the lovely biscuits from Bothams ( could have eaten a box of these ). The bed was comfy, room was lovely clean and fresh. Great nights sleep, woke in the morning to a lovely view across the fields and a slight noise of sheep. We had a very nice greeting in the morning with a little bit of humour, which is nice a some make you feel like they just want rid of you.Then came the best bit ( breakfast ), now for me this can make or break a return trip. We’ll be returning. You have to try the full English, all local produce and delivered in a timely manner. You should always expect a slight wait when it’s being cooked fresh but I thought this was quite quick. The wife had porridge (the proper stuff) with a bit of honey. You can tell they pride there selves on the service they give and I actually think they enjoy delivering a good service and this they do 5 stars plus. I have just returned from a one night stay in the Mooredge. It is the perfect location for Sneaton Castle and only a 15 minute walk to Whitby Centre. Lucy and her Husband are the perfect hosts, very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. I stayed in Room 2 with excellent views over the moors. My room was spotlessly clean with a fully equipped en-suite, tea, coffee, water and delicious mini cookies from a local bakery. The bed was extremely comfortable with soft fluffy pillows - I had the best night sleep in ages! Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. |Thank you both for an excellent stay. Spent one night here whilst walking the Cleveland way. Easy access on A171 short walk into Whitby, parking on driveway or on street. Lucy & Brian are fabulous hosts. Messaged to invite us to drop our stuff of early. Flexible check in. We had the bedroom at the back of the house with views over the fields of sheep. Delicious home cooked breakfast with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Nice touches in the bedroom including biscuits on the hospitality tray. Travel sustainable measures in place to reduce single use plastic. Great nice sleep & wonderful shower after our walk. Would definitely book again if we were...
