What a gorgeous, friendly and well-kept site! We would absolutely love to return for a longer stay in the future. Booked in for 1 night camping somewhat last minute (the week of our trip) which was quick and easy; paid before arrival by invoice (bank transfer). Coming into the campsite after a long day in the mountains was like walking into the gates of heaven: cold beers, comfy couch, hot tea, hot SHOWER, plush grass on a nice flat paddock and everything within a 1-2 minute walk of the pitch. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more accommodating. We weren't expecting a breakfast service at a campground and were pleasantly surprised! If they had a few more hearty vegan options, that would have been perfect, but we were happy with our beans on toast. Can't wait to return.

Great campsite with all the essential camping facilities (proper toilets, washing area for dishes, nice hot showers, freezer to exchange over packs). A lot of beautiful nature around, like a red kite flying above, horses in the next field, rabbits and foxes in the field across the road. On the field across the road there is a public footpath into a nice dense forest. You get a nice view from the top of the field, or walking through the forest up the hill. You can walk to town from the campsite, but it is along narrow country roads for half a mile, until you reach pavements.

A truly exceptional campsite. The whole team clearly love keeping the place tidy and welcoming. Pizzas are amazing. Facilities in great condition. Mick and Sharon always had time to answer questions - will definitely be back next year! While it's only a 8 minute walk to the Hay Festival site and another 10 into town, the site itself is really quiet and gets beautiful sunsets

Beautiful location and the campsite had good facilities, nice hot showers and clean toilets. We were able to rent a firepit from them and buy some logs off the owners which was a good add on to our trip. Unfortunately our trip was let down by neighbouring campers (a group of men) who came back to their tents in the early hours of the morning screaming and shouting. They trampled through our plot, littered bottles around us and snapped the arials off our three cars. Upon realising this we informed the owners of the campsite, who apologised and informed us that the group were regulars and they had asked them to apologise to us. The group put it right with us but felt like they were forced to. We didn't feel that the site owners dealt with it in the best way and did not feel reassured by them that the campsite was safe. This put a damper on what was otherwise a lovely trip. It really is a nice campsite, but just be mindful about the 'regulars' they have and watch your belongings.

EDIT in response to owners response I dont know how a group of men wandering around our tents in the dark when we are all in bed AND breaking our possessions can not be deemed as aggressive or threatening? You did inform us of your actions and the group did put it right with us as we were leaving, however we felt they should have been asked to leave and you as the owners should have dealt with it between us and them, it should not have been up to us to ask them for money to fix the broken cars. It would have also been nice to recieve some compensation from you in the form of at the very least some drinks or some logs for the day we had spent worrying about leaving our possessions at your site. We dont want them to recieve a 'public flogging' as you put it,...

Liked: My third stay at Outdoors. Solo male traveller but don’t be misled by 2 people minimum booking, at this price you’re booking floor space and it’s good value at that!

I was in a tent and there’s enough flat space not to be waking up with your foot poking out in the morning. I was there in the latest thunderstorms and noticed how well drained the site was with the only puddles being on the tracks. Pretty amazing considering the rain we got.

A quiet spot too with most of the noise being made by animals and birds. Very little traffic noise except the odd tractor which just underscores you’re in farmland proper.

Kitted out for outdoor sports like kayaking but I didn’t (you wouldn’t get me out again) but lots of lovely local walks too. Me? I went for the books!

The management are super helpful and always on call. I found any comms were quick and clear.

There’s a cider bar which looked comfortable and inviting. The facilities are clean and fully functional and in sufficient quantity.

I’ve got my eye on a couple of the glamping options for if the tent isn’t an option for any reason.

The reason I gave it maximum score is that it isn’t pristine. It’s a working campsite with an environmental conscience. I’ve been to too many sites that are so antiseptic that it was unwelcoming. Outdoors feels like camping but you’re absolutely not roughing it.

Finally, it was good to see couples, families and groups all enjoying themselves.

Disliked: Not much they can do about thunderstorms- I should’ve looked at the weather...
