What a horrendous experience, before we even got to the room we had issues! I was solo traveling with three children under 6 . I prebooked a room, and also called to make sure the bedding as set out suitable for my youngest two children (ie not a cot). Booking stated our room was available from 3pm. I got delayed and my arrival was not until 7.45pm, plenty time to get the room ready. Not! I was greeted by a self checkout screen that wasn’t working (kept saying error on screen), then along came unenthusiastic George. He appeared about 10 mins after us waiting around in the lobby for some human interaction. He told me my room wasn’t ready so I asked when it would be: his reply…..”Well you’ll have to wait until dinners have calmed down a bit!”, erm what…. I was then told it would be 15-20 mins until the restaurant would calm down and he could make up the room. I had three children who were extremely tired and getting grumpy and myself who suffers a chronic illness and just needed a place to rest. My kids and me sat/lay on the lobby floor for the last 30 mins before we were finally given a room. No apology, no thanks for waiting. Nothing. Got handed a key, not even told which floor or where to go which resulted in us getting lost along the way. I’ve stayed in a lot of premier inns but this really puts me off every staying at any...

Very disappointing stay — won’t be returning. I hated it from the moment we arrived. The hotel is set in a dingy industrial area with lots of travellers around, which didn’t feel welcoming or safe. There were no staff to greet us, and we had to check in through a machine, which took a while.

We asked to move to a higher floor as the travellers were right outside our window (room 21), but the request was refused. They were noisy throughout the night, making it hard to sleep. The room itself was thick with dust, looked tired and dirty, and had a strange smell. It honestly looked about 20 years old, even though it’s supposedly only three years old.

We had a meal in the restaurant and waited over an hour for our food while others who came after us were served first. When it finally arrived, my meal was burnt. There were only four families dining at the time, so there was no excuse for the delay.

The bedding didn’t feel clean, and the whole experience left us disappointed as a family. We had just come from the Premier Inn in Pickering, which was spotless, modern, and a pleasure to stay in — even the much older Premier Inn in North Shields was far better.

Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to this...

I have spent 3 night so far at the premier inn Alnwick. There are 3 of us sharing a room, 1 adult and 2 under 16’s. It is great value and very clean. We are here for a family funeral unfortunately so this was a pretty last minute booking. The room is very clean and has everything we need. The staff are just fabulous. Really friendly and genuinely couldn’t do any more to help. The chef offered to cook for us even when the restaurant hours had finished and always tried to help to cook special requests for breakfast in the morning. I arrived very (well after midnight after a long drive) late and am a rubbish sleeper so I became familiar with the overnight staff. They were so great to have a friendly chat to and couldn’t do more to help. I have been so impressed and will be more than happy to return and stay again even though on this occasion it was a sad reason to visit. We have family up here and visit regularly but after covid the usual cottage rentals have become ridiculously priced. We have been very impressed by the accommodation and staff service offered for what has been a sad visit this time but would recommend to anyone and would return again. Thanks to all the staff for a very...

Easy to find with postcode in satnav. It's located on a trading estate so not much to look at. Building has been open about a year so looks fresh and plenty of car parking spaces. Check in was a bit troublesome as the self service machine could not process our booking. This was quickly rectified by Tracey at the main desk. Opted for the dinner and breakfast meal deal which was in the end very good value. The room as ever with premier Inn was very clean and had a good size comfortable bed. Throughout our stay Staff member Tracey was very welcoming and helpful. She could not do enough for you, it was clear that they were understaffed the first evening so she was ran off her feet in the restaurant. We booked dinner on the first night and quite a few options were not available, even as early as 1900. Thankfully our choices including the Gammon and veggie options were still available. The portions were very generous  and the food was tasty, hot, well presented and we received quick and efficient service, Breakfast was the usual Premier Inn fair, plenty of choice, veggie sausages and bacon were available so no reason to go hungry.
