Another fine Premier Inn, upholding the positive experiences I have had with the chain so far. Room was nice, and well-maintained and clean. Issue with toilet seat reported to receptionist, and whilst we went for dinner our room was swapped for one that did not have an issue. First rate for comfort, shower, staff, welcome, helpfulness and amazing value. Attached pub served as restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Nice quiet location out of the main city, with ample parking. Staff were pleasant throughout. 2022 Update. Revisiting and the hotel is the same, but all COVID-19 restrictions have gone. It's a free-for-all once again. The attached pub added a charge to the bill for a splash of gravy without mentioning that it was being charged. The manager was surly and unhelpful and played ignorance about adding hidden charges; I shall be contacting the Whitbread head office, as this is completely wrong, especially with the UK financial crisis. Ripping off customers loses me as their patron.

We paid for a Premier Plus room as we were staying for a few days, honestly its worth the bit of extra money for what you get compared to a standard room, the main differences being the mini fridge and coffee machine and large desk with a nice armchair. The restraunt was nice and the service was great, although the menu is a bit more limited than other Premier inns I have visited. The reception staff were all courteous and happy to help, the premium wifi is a bit of a faff to connected to however with you needing to enter new passwords each day and only being able to connect 3 devices. All in all a very good experience.

Our 2nd visit to this particular Premier Inn, 5 years apart. The hotel is nice, the rooms are a good size and are decorated in a modern standard.

The wifi isn't great, even the premium is far from a premium service, wouldn't even bother with the standard wifi, it's not worth the effort. (I believe this is the case with many if not all Premier Inns)

The location is nice if you don't want to stay right in the city, we did have issues getting to the City Centre one of the days we stayed but it was snowing quite heavily, so that's not the norm. The train station is a short drive away giving you a good way to get in and out of the city.

Our room was nice but had a horrid smell just upon entering each time, the smell disappeared quickly but was there each time we entered. Definitely something the cleaning team should pick up on.

Honestly I probably wouldn't stay here again as its just a bit too much of a pain getting into the city centre especially on a Sunday with trains only every hour (if they're not cancelled) but it is...

Premier inn so you know what you are getting. Bit of an inconvenience trekking across the car park in the rain for breakfast but food quality and service in the table table restaurant was fantastic. Only thing that spoiled it for me was that they used an automatic air freshener in reception which was a strong vanilla scent. I told the lady on check in at reception that I have a bad allergy to it and have been hospitalised in the past and she laughed saying oh I've got vanilla perfume on. I let it go on day one as hotel room and corridors were vanilla scent free. However on two subsequent days the scent was still being used and my immune system was attacked meaning I got a horrible throat infection. (In the past I have been hospitalised with pneumonia caused by vanilla scents). I understand not knowing on day one but as the only way in and out of the hotel is through reception I had to endure this at least 6 more times whilst staying. It's such an easy fix, customer tells you so you switch it off. Otherwise...
