On a business trip. My first stay at a Premier Inn. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were basic, but functional and clean. A wall mounted freeview TV, kettle and hair drier are supplied. The bed was long enough for me at 6'2 tall and reasonably comfortable. A short walk across the car park leads to a bar restaurant. Evening meals can't be charged to the room, but inclusive breakfast deals are available. There are a selection of dishes available on the evening menu. I chose the steak and ale pie, with chips mushy peas and gravy. The pie looked quite appetising on arrival, but the pastry was really tough, requiring some effort to break through to reveal four very small, but lean pieces of beef in a thick gravy. The filling was edible, but bland, being under-seasoned and showing little evidence of the promised ale. The chips had been replaced by French fries, as they had run out. The mushy peas were as one would expect. The gravy served in a small boat on the side was quite thick, but would have benefited with the addition of some ale to enhance the flavour. My colleague ordered chicken burger and went with the option of replacing the bun and fries with salad. The salad was fine, but the chicken was overcooked and quite dry. After dinner we had coffees from the bar, which were very good and served with a piece of complementary fudge....I can't comment on the fudge, as my bit "disappeared!" The following morning, we walked over once again for breakfast. There were an array of continental breakfast items on a buffet, with all you can eat and drink. In addition a full English breakfast was available. All the items were well cooked, if a little bland. The breakfast coffee was disappointing, lacking body and flavour. An ok place to stay for a short business trip, but do take a brolly for the walk over for meals in...

We arrived at this hotel after a 8 hour driver from Dundee to Leicester at 3 am, we arrived in the room to it already being quite small for a family room which had looked like you have just shoved a single bed into a double room to turn it into a family room, especially with having a child she had a whole 2 ft of play area to play with her toys etc. however the main reason for my complaint today is the absolute state of the room, the floors filthy and don’t seem to have been cleaned or hoovered atall, I don’t fancy waking up in the morning, standing up to then having to pick off bits of dirt off the bottom of my foot, I then proceed to the bathroom to complete my morning duties to then find that when I went to grab some toilet paper there was none to be found, I had to wake up my already ill wife to have to go to reception at 7 am to get some toilet paper, I was so close to using your shower curtain due to the state of the room already as it probably wouldn’t have even made a difference with what the state of the room was already, there was absolutely nothing premier about anything and this is only my first night out of 4.

The level of service I have received this morning from the reception to just say oh you could have just come to reception, well yes we did but why should we have to? Because no one was bothered to do their job properly because this place is a dump and the staff treat it like a dump?

I am appalled by this and I can guarantee you now I will never use premier inn ever again, what a...

A fantastic Premier Inn due to the staff and the location. It’s close to the city centre (10 minutes by bus) so you can leave your car at the hotel where there are lots of spaces. The hotel also has a pub located next door where there is also a great food menu. We’ve stayed here a couple of times now and have had good experiences. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable with a good size bathroom and large flat screen tv. There is also a hair dryer and chair as well as shelves and space to hang clothes. We had a couple of issues with our most recent stay, but Nicola on reception sorted them out for us and also recommended a fantastic Indian take away that delivered to the hotel (the pub lends out plates and cutlery too!). We paid for the ultimate wi-fi that whilst faster kept dropping out which apparently it does if too many people are on the internet. However, Nicola refunded our wi-fi payment with no issues. We also discovered a quirk with the bottle opener in our room where it had actually been put too low down on the wall meaning that when you tried to put a bottle in to remove its cap the bottle hit the piece of wood before you could get the cap in. This was more funny than anything else and Nicola was able to provide a bottle opener at reception and said she would follow up with the hotel maintenance to get the problem looked at. I would stay here again and it is great value for money from a...

This hotel represents the worst accommodation experience I have encountered. The safety and comfort of the room were severely compromised. Upon arrival in room 19, we discovered the room was excessively cold. Despite activating the heating system and leaving for the evening, the room remained frigid upon our return, with the heating unit emitting only cool air. My husband subsequently requested an alternative room due to the unacceptable temperature. A member of staff delivered an oil-filled heater; however, my husband, due to his professional experience, identified that it lacked a current Portable Appliance Test (PAT) certification. The staff member retrieved the heater, subsequently returning it with a PAT sticker; although, I feel it was the same heater. Further inspection revealed that other items in the room also lacked current PAT testing, raising significant safety concerns. Later, at approximately 4:00 AM, a heavy headboard detached from the wall, striking both my husband and me. I sustained facial and bodily injuries, while my husband experienced a near-knockout blow. We put the head borad on the floor and tired to get some sleep. I didn't want to move rooms at 4am. They would probably be cold too. We reported the incident to reception the following morning, receiving a complaint form and contact information. Never ever had this sort of problem in a premier inn ever!

Honestly not a great experience. It was one problem after another. When I arrived I was allocated room 219, on arrival to the room I noticed it wasn't the best room but as I was only here for 2 nights I didn't really fuss too much. I noticed there is damp mould above the air con, and the fan is very dusty, the bed side lights do not work either side, the HDMI port does not work either. When I took a shower there was hair in the shower and the final straw was when I took the "clean" pillows out of the packet and found someone's hair on the pillow on both sides. When discovering this, I went to reception who happily changed my room. I was then allocated room 218. Much better room and much cleaner (although still very dusty) but the HDMI port still doesn't work. I asked at reception if someone could look at this while I was out for the day. On coming back it appears that it was not looked at. The girl who was on reception was very helpful in regards to this and apologised. On a good note, the lady at breakfast was so nice and welcoming and the breakfast was tasty. Honestly I expected better as I have stayed in premier inns regularly for both work and stays away and never had this many issues. Hopefully premier inn take note of this review and improve experience, unfortunately I won't be staying here again.
