Went here to stay for a night for a kickboxing competition in the area, 8 of us stayed over (3 seperate rooms) the rooms themselves were reasonably clean, but the bathroom stunk, could only be described as sewage, it was terrible to the point people were gagging. Although I know this isn’t down to premier inn, the service at the partner pub was horrific, we was told we could just walk in but when we went to book we was told we couldn’t as “they was fully booked” but was told we could walk in? The breakfast served was no where near worth the money, we had to leave the hotel area by 8:30am and breakfast was served from 8am so was already on a tight schedule, when we arrived for breakfast there was a limited amount of pastries, cereals, coffees/teas, spreads etc, there was a toaster out but no bread and no milk which was highly disappointing, we asked for bread and milk as that was basically the necessities for all they had to offer and this wasn’t placed out till 8:15am (we arrived at 8:05), like I mentioned we was already on a tight schedule. We was also told that warm breakfast wasn’t served till 8:30am!!! So overall was very disappointed and won’t be...
Read moreI have stayed at many Premier Inns on the past and have always been happy with their cleanliness and service. This was the first time I was quite disappointed.
The customer service was very good, but the room cleaning was very poor. I could feel the dirt and grit under my feet on the carpet and on the bathroom floor. There was even a minstrel on the floor which wasn't mine. There were other people's hairs in the bathroom and mould and mildew around the sink, ceiling and bath.
Also the rooms aren't well accoustically isolated and I heard someone pacing up and down loudly at 11pm. My room shook, same also when people walk in the hallway and you can hear every word they say clearly.
The styling is very old and outdated, very rundown and needs TLC.
The free internet speed was unusable at 0.5 Mb/s up and down with frequent drop outs although the signal strength was strong. The £5 a night internet wasn't much better. I managed to do some teams calls but actually worked better from 4g.
Other than the lovely customer service, the rest was very disappointing and I'd be far less inclined to use Premier Inns after...

No plug sockets in the room except for the kettle and TV, and even the latter is at desk height so it's really awkward to use. Really unhelpful.
Bathroom door wouldn't close as its warped.
Booked a twin room. The double bed was fine though the single bed had the worst mattress, springs sticking out and pinging every time you roll over.
There's no iron or ironing board in any of the rooms. Surely a standard in any hotel room?
No room service either. I guess because of covid perhaps, though it also means no topped up kettle accompaniments.
Walls and furniture all chipped and dented.
Extremely small TV. Didn't affect us, though a relevant point for if you intend to watch it.
No comments on the staff or the food as they were pleasant enough from my limited dealings, and the food is provided by the next door Greene King pub, so whilst it was pretty average at best (expected), its nothing to do with the...
