Well located for Malham and other local attractions. Reception staff were super friendly, and the young waiter in the restaurant was great. Rooms are clean with good beds. Negatives were the non-opening windows. Rooms ended up being very stuffy. Also, the restaurant had quite an unloved feel about it. The menu is what it is, but if you can't even put the advertised sliced chilli and spring onions on the nachos, everything ends up looking very beige and gloopy. Seems like there is a blind spot on cleaning the outside too. Even if there isn't a budget for a makeover, someone could at least show it some love by running a cloth over the entrance doors, and cleaning the litter from the planters outside. Oh, and the WiFi - the basic WiFi is shocking, and they want you to upgrade to their 'premium' service. I resent being milked for decent WiFi - like comfortable beds, this should just be a basic requirement for all hotels. The rating would have been a 3 star if not for the reception staff.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights, the staff in the hotel were lovely, helpful and polite. The hotel itself on the other hand was awful, when I entered the room it smelt like damp, it wasn’t hard to find out why, the walls were soaking, the roof and window ledge had mould all over them. The windows were locked for safety reasons so couldn’t air the place out. Air conditioning was provided instead but it was useless, on max fan it made no difference therefore the room itself was stagnant. There was an extractor fan in the bathroom , however this was also useless. I agree with a previous review I seen posted, staff are great, but the place is run down and in desperate need of refurbishment. I would recommend staying elsewhere until it’s rectified.

Longest check-in I’ve ever experienced despite being the only one arriving. Having said that the staff were very friendly. The hotel itself and the adjoining bar / restaurant are kind of a dump. I booked breakfast but cancelled when I saw where I was going to eat. The bedroom was old and tired with lots of rust in the bathroom and broken coat hangers on the wall. Frankly I felt bad for the staff because they put in a shift but the hotel needs a complete refurbishment. I wonder with new Premier Inns popping up all over the place whether they’ve taken their eye off the older premises. Only stayed because it was an equal distance from where I live to the lakes and I wanted a rest half way.

Appalling across the board. It was a rubbish New Year’s eve & 2-day stay & I would never go there again, ever. In fact I wouldn’t stay at a Premier Inn again. First of all we found a used large towel in the bathroom on arrival, yuck! So clearly attention to detail isn’t a strong point & it makes you feel uncomfy with actually staying there. We had to ask several times for a hand towel as there was only one for 2 people, it finally came about 10 at night delivered by the receptionist. The same woman who decided to test the fire alarm in the evening without informing anyone it was going to happen. I wasn’t the only one who responded by going to reception, several people had actually been woken up! The extractor fan in the bathroom was broken, which meant that foul air from essential human use hung around in the bathroom for far too long, seeping into the main room! Yuk again. I asked the receptionist for some sort of air freshener which she said wasn’t used - something to do with COSSH I assume - or expense - anyway she said she’d do something after I’d had to spell out exactly what the problem was - this was embarrassing- and eventually at 10 at night she squirted something down the lav - whilst delivering hand towels - after I’d had asked the manager. OMG! We discovered at 4pm in the afternoon, after a 2-hr drive to get there, that the pub/restaurant was closed, and only opened for breakfast & dinner. Apart from anything else this is seriously underusing the facility - imo, it should be running like a Wetherspoons & pulling in local punters & people who want a drive out in the Dales & a lunch or dinner out as well as providing a nice place for hotel clients to sit, relax & enjoy. It’s a pretty pub that I’m assuming was busy & welcoming at one time. The food was truly shocking & the staff were lazy & seemingly unaware of what constitutes customer service, let alone caring enough to make it good. I witnessed one poor client who’d asked for toilet paper as there wasn’t any in the Ladies being told “no, sorry we don’t have the keys to the store cupboard”, at this point I intervened & asked the other member of staff for loo roll - somehow or another he made this happen & appeared 5 mins later with some. I had to ask for vinegar for my undercooked, cold chips too as they’d failed to ensure the condiments station had been replenished. Just substandard. There were problems with some staff being unable to get to work due to flooding on New Year’s Day but the entire hotel chain is understaffed anyway, this seems terribly unfair on staff & can only result in shoddy service. As it happened there was very little breakfast on New Year’s Day as the chef had been unable to get in, & on top of this we then we had to ask for knives as cutlery hadn’t been replenished!!! On & on! The manager needs to be checking cleanliness & ensuring a high standard of customer service, he was pleasant but this is far from the point. I’ve stayed in Premier Inns before & have been content. I know it’s a budget chain but we actually work hard for our money & feel like the attitude of the executives is “let’s run our hotels as cheaply as we can to increase profit margins, the cheapskates that stay in our hotels don’t deserve good customer service anyway, & besides who cares!” What an awful attitude. But why should they care as the hotel was full to capacity? People wanting to treat themselves & have some enjoyment. I’d seriously look at getting advice from whoever it is who started Wetherspoons - this is a great business model that would be good for this hotel chain to use. Shameful waste of a beautiful pub in a gorgeous location & a...

We booked 4 rooms for a 4 night stopover..|Cost us over £1800+ including meal deals.|Have used Premier inn many times over the years and have always found the brand to be very consistent in providing a good standard of both rooms, facilities & food…|I personally have used PI both for leisure & business over many years and can honestly say this is the most sub standard establishment I have ever used||What’s gone wrong at Gargrave, the place is an absolute shambles, the quality of service is appalling, the place needs a good shake up and full refurbishment. ||It appears the food service is very hit & miss, the bar service was minimal, ||The pub/bar area is half empty with all furnishings removed, it now resembles something better suited to a 3rd world country, the exterior and car park have definitely seen better days.|Senior management from Premier Inn need to visit this place and experience for themselves how bad it is..||Food has been limited, on night 1 & 2, sorry no chicken, prawns, etc, etc..|We paid a supplement for a mixed grill, then when we questioned about the lack of chicken, were advised, sorry yeah we don’t have any chicken, no offer of a refund on the supplement though..||On our 3rd night, no chef so no food, we walked into the local village Fish & Chip shop.. luckily we are fit enough to do so..||Room servicing was non existent, apparently you have to request your room to be serviced for stays of more than one night, which we did… on return the only thing that had been done was one of the bins had been emptied and the tea bags restocked, we had one towel exchanged, but the bed had not been changed, or bathroom cleaned. |The bathroom is covered in mould, the shower cubicle resembled a Petri dish with mouldy walls and every corner was black and gungey.||Come on Premier Inn get your act together and get this place sorted.||Premier Inn HQ will be hearing from me in the...

How did you do. In a nut shell - Badly. In fairness the visible staff were doing all they could to provide the best service they could under the circumstances in which they found themselves. Clearly staffing was insufficient, public areas stripped back to minimum in terms of facilities, are we supposed to feel sorry for the manager? - We did. It was stated at the time of booking the the hotel was undergoing refurbishment, there was however no visible sign of any works in progress. We spent three days in the hotel and watched the friendly welcoming beleaguered staff doing their under staffed best to cope with the numbers of guests.

This property is seedy and dirty and visually unwelcoming. Its exterior peeling paintwork and overall shabby facades presents as a neglected property the life of which like abused overworked horse has been drained from it. There should be no excuse for example: Disabled parking bays littered with cigarette butt's and leaf fall, not only do you collect the butt's on footwear but surely also a potential fire hazard. Brush and shovel required at the very least.

Internally it is dirty and unsanitary, peeling window frames with visible black mould, bathroom fan sounding reminiscent of cousin David's old tractor. Curtain rails Totally unsuitable for the weight of blackout curtains which fall down at the drop of a hat. The clearly visible redundant net Curtain Pole seated at an obtuse angle.

We are frequent P Inn users and some are better than others but in the main overall standards are good but this hotel located in a beautiful location is a let down. The bit that jars the most is we could have stayed at P Inn in York, New hotel, same period, same money, more facilities. How can you justify the disparity in facilities with value for money considering the state of P...
