I don't recommend it. We spent 3 nights - longer weekend in this facility. There are a lot of dogs, if you are a dog lover, this is definitely the place for you. In the rooms, there is mold in the bathroom, pet hair, hair left by other lodgers on the floor also. In the morning there is always a pile of sheets and towels after check-out, but not in the baskets normally on the dirty carpet in the hall. There is no reception, only a board with your name and room number. You can enter the building easily - the code is publicly posted on the door. Anyone from the street can come in there and check where you sleep etc. The English breakfast is OK but the salmon option is a joke (1 mm thick). The parking lot is tiny - a larger car will have to struggle. When entering the building in the evening, the entire ground floor smells of damp. The facility is priced very high per night, like a luxury hotel, due to its location - because it is good one and in a beautiful place close to the lakes. However, the offer at this price is very poor. The coffee set includes: a kettle, coffee and tea in tiny tomato puree jars. It reminds us of the times of communism. I do not recommend - the refund was discussed and then after was forgotten. Security is average in the facility, there are cameras, but what good are they if, on the day of move-in, everyone knows where a given person sleeps and knows the door code - you publish it on the entrance door. This is really a bad one - GDPR forgotten. It's not allowed be with small children, but it is possible with a dogs. I got cat can I? Something went wrong in the hotel savoir vivre big time in this place. Charging like for 3 nights in 5 star hotel, but at least you would remove the dirty (brown stains) ironing board from the wall. Shame for that price. Have you ever stayed in a 4 star hotel? Not recommend this place at all. Not for this price and...

Had a lovely one night stay at the Grange. Hosts were amenable to my request for a slightly earlier check in than advertised; which was key to my visit, attending an event that started at a fixed time. Check in and check out was easy, entry code communicated online. Parking good and car safe.

Room was comfortable and warm, which was handy as outside temperatures fell below freezing overnight. Did notice a bit of light under the door, (maybe a new strip on underside of number 9’s door would be an idea), if you had noisy neighbours might have been annoying (which happily I didn’t).

Slept really well, which isn’t always my way when away from home in unfamiliar surroundings. Comfy warm dbl bed, nice shower, tv fine, tea and coffee in the room. No complaints, quite the opposite.

Breakfast lovely, served by hardworking lass with a top smile for first thing in the morning.

View from my window was a superb view of the hills above Keswick which caught the morning sunlight.

Took leisurely walk in and back to Keswick along designated footpath nearby, which took about 15-20 minutes, across beautiful meadows and a river crossing. Wild geese were gathering up their numbers for migration. All around the stunning lakeland scenery; blows me away.

Had a late pint at The Farmers just down the road before retiring, all good.

Yes, would return and recommend if always run to...

Had a wonderful 2 nights staying at Rickerby Grange. We arrived Friday teatime after a day of walking up and over Catbells, Maiden Moor and High Spy (very much recommend this walk in the snow, the views were unbelievable). Very easy access and well thought out for minimal interaction (our kind of check in!). We dumped our bags and made our way down to the local pub, the Farmers Arms for some well needed pub grub and a few pints. The bed was extremely comfy, and had a wonderful nights sleep. Breakfast included in the price and exactly what we needed for another day of walking (Barrow, Outerside). Full English with all the trimmings. Waiting staff seemed to be the owners children, and were beyond polite which was really refreshing. We took some fruit that they had to offer for our rucksacks for later. Shower was very powerful and clean. Not many bathroom amenities but not a problem as we always pack our own. The final morning we went for the salmon and eggs. Again, beautiful. Check out was very easy, we left our key on the side and headed off back without any fuss. Perfect. ||Our only gripe would be the heating. We stayed in January, around -5 on a night and the radiators didn’t seem to heat the room. Apart from that, we had a wonderful stay and we would highly recommend this beautiful family...

Lovely B&B, a real hidden gem. Nice location, away from the madness of Keswick but within easy walking distance of Keswick itself (25 mins or so on foot). Keswick was less than 5 mins drive away. Good pub within a minutes walk. Nice clean property with great facilities and lots of parking. Self check in process is really easy. Breakfast was delicious and well organised over 2 sittings. Only slight downside is that the property has thin walls, so the room next door was quite noisy (TV, talking etc.) but this stopped about 10.30pm as there is a 'quiet' rule after 10pm, so we didn't have any problems sleeping, everyone seemed to respect this. Lots of storage in the room and an extra sink in the bedroom which was very handy as you could use this when the ensuite was occupied. Lovely views of the fells from the breakfast room. Will definitely be returning, what a lovely place and excellent base for both Keswick and the Coledsle Horseshoe.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Self check in was nice and hassle free, our room was lovely, well presented and soooo clean. Added surprise of our own little private garden which was full of birds going about their day! The breakfasts were lovely with a nice choice of what to have. The hosts were really nice people and nothing was a bother! It's only a 20 minute walk into keswick so you had plenty of choices of where to eat/drink. Can't wait to visit again, can't recommend this place enough. Thanks for a great stay!
