River House Bed & Breakfast - Malham, Skipton, Yorkshire Dales — Hotel in Great Britain

An excellent 4 night stay at River House. Centre of Malham with designated parking spaces it was a value for money beautifully presented B & B. I couldn't fault it at all and the lovely little touches such as homemade biscuits and fresh cold milk every day in the room were really thoughtful. My room was Room 10, a large twin room on the ground floor front of house overlooking the very pretty garden. The room was spotless and the facilities were excellent. The whole atmosphere of River House was welcoming and very homely too. Each day started well as you came to breakfast to enjoy the variety of cereals and fresh fruit, juice etc but for me the hot food was the highlight.,.|My " Yorkshire Dales" breakfast was just one of the hot, well presented tasty breakfast. The weather always helps, but when arriving at the Riverhouse after a long day's walk I had the feeling that the sun is always shining here. Our host was very welcoming and showed us to an exquisite room overlooking the village smithy and the river. Old houses have their nooks and crannies and so does this one. There is a little sitting room downstairs and also a lounge sofa area by the bar, that has a nice selection of wines. The breakfast was fantastic and one of the contributing chicks looked in at us through a little window while we were eating our traditional Yorkshire fry-up, while the neighbouring table enjoyed their Eggs Benedict and salmon. Our hosts were very forthcoming when arranging packed lunch for us (At a very reasonable extra cost) and offered a great choice of sandwich fillers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at River House. We received a warm welcome from proprietor Alex, who showed us to our room and made sure we had a flask of fresh milk so we could make some cups of tea while settling in. Some delicious home-baked goodies were also left on the side for us - a lovely touch!

Our room was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully decorated and had pleasant natural light.

The breakfast was generous and delicious, with everything being made to order and served by Ann.

We made use of the B&B's walking books and travel suggestions, to make the most of our time in the area. It was also really handy to be able to order packed lunches for a day out walking in the Dales.
