My daughter and I have just had a wonderful stay at this delightful place. Cathy is a wonderful host who is on hand to help but never intrusive. An incredible breakfast each morning which was as abundant as the kindness and attention to detail. The place is really tranquil and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed and more. We live in Cornwall anyway so the lanes and the hills were no surprise to us, however you do probsbly need a car to make the most of a visit to the area. On one day our car had a problem and garages are hard to find. Can recommend RTA Recovery in Lanner who came out to Rosmerryn and got us going again. Also Express Garage, Falmouth who were so helpful and seemed to be the only place thst opens on a Saturday. We didnt need to go to Express in the end as RTA got us going but they were very kind snd supportive via the phone and would have fitted us in to looked at the car if need be, even though they were busy. Worth knowing. A walk to the Trengilly Wartha Inn was a little challenge in the rain but worth it for the hospitality, games and amazing food. Steak & Ale pie best ever tasted!! Also recommend Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage who served great food too and were also so kind and helpful. Oh and don't miss the nearby seal sanctuary in Gweek.... its a lovely day out!! A fantastic trip despite really bad weather and car trouble. Rosmerryn was a confortable and homely safe haven run by very sweet people from where to base your adventures. They certainly...
Read moreCathy made us feel very welcome from the moment we first arrived.
She greeted us as soon as we turned up. After confirming our arrival time we were greeted with a complimentary Cornish cream tea which was delicious.
The room is lovely and covered everything you need, including both bath and shower option.
The breakfast range options are fantastic yet with choices for anyone. The cooked breakfast is particularly fantastic. Fresh ingredients sourced from local butchers. She was happy to wrap up leftover pastries for us to take out for lunch, which was super useful for midday snacks, so we didn't need to find somewhere for lunch!
Cathy made sure that we had everything we need during our stay. She then left us to our own devices but was always on hand if we ever needed anything.
We enjoyed our stay so much we even stayed an additional night. The price of the room is very fair.
I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who stayed in the local area.
Also highly recommend sampling the food at the local restaurants recommended by Cathy.
Finding the place can be very difficult but the directions that Cathy sent prior to turning up were very helpful. Highly recommend bookmarking location on your sat nav once you've found it as this will make it much easier to get back.
There is virtually zero light pollution here making it perfect for stargazing at night on a...
Read moreHaving toured Cornwall for 4 days and stayed in waterside venues I was a little unsure about driving into the countryside and seeing a different view from my room however I was not disappointed on arrival at Rosmerryn ( we missed the turning as the house name or track cannot be seen clearly from both directions). Peace and tranquillity greets us not only in the surroundings but also from our hosts who were welcoming and unintrusive whilst respecting that as most guests will have selected this location to enjoy the peace, leave you well alone after settling you into what is in effect a bolt on extension to their family home. We enjoyed a very quiet eve and chose not to visit the local pub ( the lanes are very quiet, narrow and dark and after a day of driving, unappeaing) in stead we bought food and wine to enjoy with out tv evening.||Breakfast was served at a time requested by us and cooked served by the host family which also gave us chance to chat to our fellow guests who were staying in an adjoining room though we would not have known as there was no noise at all during our stay.||Very pleasant & grown up! Not for families...
