I cannot comment on the rooms, we only called in for dinner. Parked in the village and walked up to Brimham Rocks. After a nice walk out it was only right that we call into the local public house for a well deserved meal and beer. I will keep it simple... the welcome was polite and friendly, the beer was spot on, the menu, was varied enough, but also not that big to be confusing. The food!!.. perfect!!! We had, Royal oak burger, Hunters Chicken , and slow brazed lamb shank... All meals were fantastic, and for me.. without question some of the best food I have had while out walking in a long time. I will be returning in the future as its well worth a visit.

Stopped on business trip for one night not expecting much. However food was superb including fresh fish, scallops and local smoked salmon and a highlight for me the meat puddings. Several very well kept real ales on the bar and rooms although slightly dated were really comfortable and incredibly reasonable. Why stay in a travel lodge.

The perfect pub to find at the end of a long walk. Great friendly welcome and service, spacious outside area, a fantastic range of draught beers and lagers, and an excellent wide ranging menu. I settled on a sausage and onion bap, with chips and some Cajun spiced onion rings. Absolutely top notch. 👍

As a couple, we’ve frequented the pub several times over the last 20yrs , sometimes it’s been lovely, sometimes not so much. |Yesterday, after a very long muddy walk we called in for some much needed sustenance. We were told we couldn’t have a food order taken for 40 mins , we were in no hurry so that was fine . We were offered a table in a darkened area of the pub which turned out to be a very lovely area although we were the only people in there. A lady came with menus and told us as soon as a table became available she could take us into a warmer, cosier area , a nice touch although we were satisfied with where we were . Although when we were moved it was to a lovely little area with a beautiful feature roaring fire . The food was really lovely , the service was absolutely “spot on” friendly, efficient and attentive.|We will be...
