I guess it really depends on what you are expecting from a campsite as to how you review it! There are no toilet or shower facilities, however you can use the ones at the sailing club across the road with prior permission. There is a chemical waste disposal, and fresh water. No Electric hookup. We had a fantastic time camping there with our friends and two young children. We both own campervans, so are fairly self sufficient which is required here. The field is fairly large, and we had to pitch up in the middle, as the outside edges are for regular visitors. It's actually the second time that we have camped here, and we will be back again I'm sure.

Only a tenner for the night in a motorhome, which isn't too bad, though there aren't any facilities other than a fresh water tap and the offer of somewhere to empty our toilet, unless you're a member off the sailing club opposite. A nice guy showed us in, placed us on our pitch and relieved us of £10. It's a couple of large fairly flat fields, a little rippley, but we managed without chocking up. A short walk to a pub where you can get a decent pint and a pleasant, if a little expensive, meal. There's a local shop too, though didn't go so can't comment.

Very clean well spaced out (covid rules) water available from several points, large bin for rubbish (no recycling tho) eventually found the elsan point thanks to permanent residents. Easy access to the waters and a handy ice cream van was parked all weekend (May bank holiday 2021) Will definitely recommend.

Beautiful tranquil environment. Son attended a sailing course here and he had a lot of fun. This is the water reservoir that supplies our tap water in Peterborough. Lots of wildlife around. It's a bit out of the way - my husband drove us here. I would come here by public transport if I could as I don't drive, but I rely on Google Maps a lot for traveling directions. Here is where Google Maps fails. When searching for directions to travel here from Stamford, Google Maps says there is NO way to get there by public transport. I had to do a bit of Googling on the Internet, where I found out a bus company called Centrebus that serves the local villages does have a bus number 9 that will take you from Stamford all the way to Rutland Water's North Shore (where the sailing activities are) morning to afternoon from Mondays to Fridays! FYI the prices are £5+ for an adult return and £4+ for a child return for this journey. I'm so glad Centrebus has a website detailing this or I would never have found out via Google Maps directions. Google Maps also gets my home address wrong on street view... I tried looking into how to rectify it but there seemed no options to do so, or at least these options aren't easily found online...

Welcome to little England....😡 We were basically "hassled" off our pitch early Sun am. After being stared at continuously on Sat, By the arriving quote... "permanent pitchers" ...who parked and drove their vehicles around staring at our M'home until we subsequently left for our day around Rutland by bike. Everything was quiet and tranquil on our return.👍 The "permanent pitchers"then returned early Sun am. Knocking on our door ranting "this is our friends pitch they'll be here in 10 mins you'll have to move, "now!!" 🤔😲 shame she wouldn't shut up 🤣 (nothing is marked out in regard to this) The world seems to be increasingly full of Self important little people spoiling it for every day folk. Be warned😡...won't ...
