What a lovely place! Great new menu and certainly a vibrant atmosphere, good prices.

Staff were epic and given how busy they were, the two from of house staff were just impeccable with timings, communication and their team work. I would have said at least one more member is needed as they were just non-stop! Really felt for them on that.

The food was brilliant, steak is highly recommended and their peppercorn is literally one ingredient away from perfection! Missing one ingredient which I'm sure the chefs know, other than that they were just amazing. Great quality food indeed and the portions were perfect 👌

So, here is the negative...... The seating is shockingly bad. The amount of times I accidentally bashed the individual behind me with my chair is sadly down to awful seating arrangements and really depressing tables and chairs, please switch it up and I'm not saying modernisation is needed, but the chair screeching on the tiled floors, along with the people accidentally hitting your chair, my god, whoever is the owner, please take a look at what you could do please.

Staff, you were amazing, thank you for the amazing service, great drinks and quality food! Looking forward to visiting again...

Second time here. First time was Mother’s Day. Came this time with my mum. She had looked online at their menu and had her heart set on ham, egg and chips from the lighter menu. Got told that was only on the lunch menu. Asked if she could still have. Was told no. I asked about the menus being different online and said about there being no time limit on the menu and response was that they are revamping the website. Ordered salmon en croute with new potatoes. Sent mine back as new potatoes were more like old, brown soft potatoes with eyes already forming. Menu wasn’t special. It was expensive for what it was. Veg was ok. Food was filling but tasteless. Shame as it’s close and could be so much better. Friendly staff but had to wait while they emerged from talking in the kitchen a couple of times. Doubt I’ll go back again.

Following on from our visit, both mum and I had salmon en croute and we were both ill the next two days. Can’t say for sure if it was from the food we ate but my mum did call the manager to alert him. He told my mum he’d binned the salmon...

Been to Rutland water for the day with our 1 year old, was going to go out to a local pub back when we got home but our daughter was really hungry by the time we left Rutland and we seen this pub as we drove past. Popped in at dinner time, i asked if we could eat outside but the bar staff then told me the kitchen staff haven't even started yet and will be about 15 minutes or so. Waited 20 minutes inside watching the staff looking like they really didn't like working there, didn't make us feel welcome, and no one came to say they had started food yet or not, couldn't even find a menu, wasn't any about on the tables, daughter couldn't wait any longer so we just left. Can't comment on the food as we didn't have any. Don't think I've ever been to a pub where at 5pm the kitchen staff had not started, most pubs serve food all day. Was a new experience for us lol. Won't bother...

Literally had to eat my dinner at arms length. Party of 8 and not one of us could fit our legs under the table it was so low and the seats so high. Quite an uncomfortable experience. Putting that aside, I had Roast lamb which was okay but nothing special. Others had scampi which they said was nice. The cheesecake was probably the best of the lot. Staff looked sad the entire time and we had to ask a few times for drinks. Personally I wouldn’t bother visiting again.

This is my fourth times coming here. Sunday Roast is incredible, beef is beautifully cooked. CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e and Profiteroles were delicious. Price is reasonable, staff are superb. You can tell that the landlord here is on another level, he is a huge part of why this pub is so successful. The pub is dog-friendly and always has a nice atmosphere. Definitely pop in, you won’t regret it 😉 Thank you Team. - Sunday, 03 November 2024 -
