Sea Nymph Estates — Hotel in Great Britain

We rented the 'Farmhouse' cottage for the week but sadly the venue didn't meet our expectations. The roof leaked on the first night into the conservatory - an issue that has evidently been going on for some time given the evidence of the damp track marks on the ceiling and warped laminate on both lounge and conservatory floors. Also, water has tracked down the bare stone wall. The mattresses were reminiscent of a 70s B&B (thin and poorly made), making sleeping a challenge and the headboard in the main bedroom was loosely secured and banged every time one of us so much as moved! The main lounge contains a spectacular inglenook fireplace that is completely fake and is equipped with an electric heater - such a waste!. As it is the central room of the ground floor there is very little natural light in here making it very dark (regardless of the PR photos - high power flashes are quite good these days!) We left early (on the 2nd day of our week long stay) and informed the rep/owner of our concerns who in turn offered to change the mattresses. The twin bed room beds were sat on squares of 18mm ply for feet as opposed to the divan wheels you might expect. The kitchen worktop is also showing signs of water damage adjacent the sink.

This cottage came quite highly rated so I'm wondering why we had these issues in the first place and then why we had to ask for subsequent rectification.

Plus points:

Good location (but follow the owners directions - not sat nav! Sat nav will take you through gated farm fields!!) Good beach access but bear in mind the local caravan site access restrictions. Peaceful. Cozy. Good access to Snowdonia and surrounding area.

Great place to stay within a beautiful setting, offering a range of accommodation from tourers, 2x chalets, 2x farmhouse and an amazing Stone built cottage, compromising of huge rooms with the biggest fireplace I've seen and large kitchen dinner also comes with outdoor seating with a fully serviced Jacuzzi and BBQ, which converts to log fire, if required, with logs provided, gated parking and big garden with Apple trees. Very nice ranch style ho.e we stayed in. Would rent again readonly priced, quite, kitchen patio, bedroom and toilet bring your own pillow, as I like a firm one but I made do. Easy access to the beach, everything you might need within walking distance or by car 2-7 minutes awY as well ad the local train 15 minute walk from where we stayed. Met the owner, very nice lady.
