Be aware if buying any furniture from this store, they are not registered with the Furniture Ombudsman, so if you have any complaints you will get nowhere, as not being a member you have only the choice to deal with them directly or take them to court Our order was over 2 k We had 3 suites from them over a period of 13 months From our initial order, we waited 16 weeks for first delivery The first sofa that arrived was the wrong order, it was supposed to have electric recliner , but came without them, so we had to wait another 16 weeks for the correct one When it arrived, one part of the recliner was faulty, it was repaired twice within 8 days, and not to our satisfaction as the repairer had to fit a bit of wood to the frame to correct, we were not willing to have our new suite have this type of repair, so we went back to them and ordered another suite This time we went for a different suite, an Ercol one which was more expensive After waiting another 16 weeks the sofa arrived in poor condition, see attached picture, this was after an hour of use The suite was inspected and found to be of poor manufacture, and after discussion was rejected and returned We discussed compensation, and it was a waste of time, they stated they do not offer any compensation, only return of all monies paid, that was when we found out they were not a member of the Furniture Ombudsman We had been given a footstool with the Ercol suite as compensation on last order, but as we were returning the suite they offered to let us keep it, why would we want a stool that goes with nothing They then offered a credit to the footstool value, we thought that was better than nothing, as we could have bought a lamp or another piece of furniture, but then we were told the credit was only applicable if we used it towards a suite of 2 k or more

As of July they still couldn't fulfil the order and they cancelled it Then made me jump through hoops to get a refund....Decided to go to Sterling Furniture In Tillicoultry 2 weeks ago. Lovely shopping experience, the member of staff that helped us Keith, was fantastic, very patient, helpful and not in anyway pushy to get a sale. Order ed a garden sofa dining set and a matching set of recliners with its own coffee table. They were delivered yesterday by a member of their own staff, Scott who was extremely helpful. He offered to unpack everything and to take away all the packaging..As I was working from home at the time, I declined his kind offer and later that evening started to unpack everything..The goods were very well packed and all but the very last item was in pristine condition. One of the sofa legs was damaged..I called the store and spoke with Scott this morning and he who took the details of the damage and informed his manager Fay. Fay was very helpful and arranged for a immediate replacement and Scott delivered it this afternoon and ensured we were fully satisfied before leaving....An outstanding team.. I will never ever buy anything from "The Range" again, not even so much as a kettle.. But am looking forward to returning to Sterling Furniture soon to buy new dining room and bedroom furniture...Thank you so much Keith, Scott and Fay..Much...
Read moreI ordered a bed from here and wish I'd never bothered. First problem, which should have rung alarm bells, was the salesman agreeing to match an online price. He then had to go and 'get authorisation from a Director', who refused the price match but offered a discount. We accepted, though my gut reaction was the salesman looked a fool for being so sure the price would be matched. I was the fool for proceeding.
5 weeks later the bed arrives...in the wrong colour. I could have rejected the bed, but Sterling agreed we could use the bed while a replacement was sourced.
5 weeks later, the replacement is being installed when the delivery driver manages to stain the foot of the bed during installation (he had some oil/grease on his glove!).
Sterling then sent out 'an expert upholsterer' to clean the stain ( I could have still rejected the bed if I wished). He made the stain worse.
Sterling agreed to source a new bed again. 2 weeks before delivery I get an email telling me delivery is delayed for another 2 weeks.
I took delivery of the replacement bed today. So, after waiting several months, several telephone calls, 55 emails (!) I've eventually got the bed I ordered.
I also received a partial refund for the inconvenience, but to be honest I'd rather have paid full price and not had months of hassle dealing with this outfit.
