Excellent village pub, well looked after by the staff and the rooms we stayed in were just what was required. As an aside, food is only served here on specific days and booking is essential. There is currently no kitchen open normally as you might find in other places.

We went for an open mic evening and we had a nice pizza 🍕 from a van outside 🍻 very welcoming pub and the dog's pub is adorable ☺️. The staff is very friendly, the music brilliant, a lot of people played the piano and lovely songs.

Great time watching the football, great beer, great gin, great staff and a great atmosphere. Really recommend this pub. Plus they love dogs, really are the definition of a top notch country pub.

My friends booked dinner for us while staying at the railway carriage holidays. We live about 20 mins away but we thought we would stay the night as a treat.

From the moment we walked through the doors we were treated like locals. Such a warm welcome. Roaring fire crackling away, brilliant choice of beers etc. Olive the pub dog stole our hearts.

Mark the landord was fantastic. What a character. He was playing the piano while we were there and kept us entertained with his banter.

We had dinner last night and breakfast this morning. Nothing was too much trouble. The service was impeccable. They catered to our every need, and we are a fussy bunch. They all made us and our dogs so welcome.

The food was delicious!! Their triple cooked chips are to die for. Darren and Rex really earnt their money running around after us. And we had a good laugh with them.

We had the family room, it was huge, clean spacious and very comfortable. The bed was so comfy and you could tell the linen was expensive.

Darren ran around after us again for breakfast. Extremely attentive.

Yes it is a lovely pub but Mark Darren and Rex made it an experience. We cant thank them enough.

Seeing as we only live 20 minutes away, we will definitely become...

Popped in on our way back from Kit Hill as virtually opposite the cottages we’re staying in. We are not locals & the garden was full of locals but I cannot tell you the welcome we received from the lovely landlord/owner was amazing. As was the welcome from the locals, this is obviously a real community pub! Lovely funny warm Welshman landlord! We were made to feel very at home & welcome & our 2 collies (always an ice breaker!) were very popular! Our young border collie Pablo had something of a fling with the pub dog Olive, who clearly adored him! We are so looking forward to going back again during our stay, for a meal this time, but our specialty gins were so wonderfully presented, packed full of fruits too & so welcome on a warm evening after walking for miles. The boss went out of his way to get us some ice as they’d run out. Thank you to you all for making us out of towners feel so welcome! We’ll be back!!...

This is a very tired pub.

We stayed there this weekend for a wedding and to our surprise there was no facility for breakfast, this being the first issue. The second being that we had to share a bathroom with another couple (both separate families consisted of groomsmen) which we were again shocked to hear, considering the price we paid. Very quickly, in said bathroom, the light stopped working, there was no window and so was pitch black, and then there was no hot water for the shower (not great when getting ready for a wedding)! Other showers throughout the pub were either not working, we’re freezing cold or boiling hot. Overall, the towels provided stank of stale smoke and some were mouldy, I also found some plastic Childrens toys under the bed (not very COVID secure). At times the staff were helpful, but overall staying here was not a...
