We tried the Spring Awakening Package at £169pp. Includes dinner, bed and breakfast and spa treatments and use of their thermal suite and outdoor area. Our room offered a comfortable and functional space which would be suitable for both leisure and business travellers. Our twin room had simple yet fairly modern decor, featured two single beds with crisp white linens, and plump pillows. A small table near the window with two chairs provided a convenient chill out space. The room also includes a flat-screen TV and a hospitality station inside the cupboard with a kettle and tea and coffee. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with a standard shower over the bath (superb shower), fresh towels, and essential toiletries. Coast restaurant perfectly encapsulates the charm of seaside living. As you step through the entrance, you are immediately embraced by the soothing ambiance of the ocean, with soft hues of blue and pale wood adorning the walls and decor. The airy, open-concept layout flows seamlessly between the restaurant and the bar and although the restaurant and bar chatter can make for a noisy space, it retains a sense of calm. The menu is filled with tantalising descriptions and beautifully laid-out dishes that promise flavours and quality. The food delivered is solid cooking, its not innovative culinary creations, but it does the job. Fish n Chips were good as was the Sticky Toffee Pudding and breakfast delivered a plate of beautifully scrambled eggs, plenty of salmon, sausages and toast. We couldn’t get breakfast out the way quick enough as we so wanted to just forget our worries and chill out. The spa it located in another building approx, 3 minutes walk from the hotel. As you step into the spa, a wave of tranquility washes over you. The subtle fragrance of essential oils hang in the air and, the soft blue lighting and peaceful music created a serene atmosphere, setting the tone for relaxation. The staff are lovely with warm smiles, and their demeanor instantly putting you at ease. The surroundings across the spa are filled with plush furnishings and tasteful decor exuding a sense of luxury and comfort. The changing rooms are pristine and lockers are provided as is robes and flip-flops if you haven’t brought your own footwear. The Thermal Suite has a large vitality pool spanning the entire back space. There's something undeniably indulgent about sinking into the warm, bubbly embrace of a vitality pool/jacuzzi and this was our first treatment we headed for. Just below the vitality pool is loungers and beyond them is the steam room and sauna. It’s a busy space but there’s enough to go around. Outside on the deck you’ll find the hydro pool and a seating area around a fire pit. Every corner of this spa is about relaxation and it delivers! After 55 minutes of treatment I felt utterly pampered and refreshed. The combination of ishga cleansing, exfoliation, and nourishing masks left my skin glowing and revitalized, while the soothing massages on my arms, shoulders and head melted away any lingering tension. It was a truly restorative experience that left me feeling both physically and mentally uplifted, a reminder of the power of taking time for oneself. My partner chose the Marine Back Treatment. The therapist worked away tension and knots, using a combination of techniques to promote relaxation and alleviate muscular tightness. The focused attention on the back muscles brought a profound sense of relief and by the end of the session, my partner felt revitalized and rejuvenated. We were both escorted to the relaxation room where water and herbal tea were available as well as our fruit smoothie and skewers. You can take your time here and really sink into that relaxation even more. Spa treatments were amazing!

Went to Gailes for breakfast with my wife today and oh my god what a disaster! The service there is up there with the worst I've ever experienced and I will now tell you why. We ordered 2 Cappuccinos and 2 'Big" English breakfasts and really wish we hadn't. The 2 Cappuccinos came to our table in sufficient enough time however we had no teaspoons to stir in the sugar. I politely asked the waitress if she could rectify this and after about 5 minutes waiting eventually sorted this out. Not even a sorry for this just a "spoon for you and a spoon for you" comment. Not a good start. Our breakfast plates came promptly enoigh and i thought to myself great this looks nice im starving! Only the waitress didn't tell me the plates were absolutely piping hot and I ended up burning the tips of my right fingers when i touched it. Ok I'm a big boy but hey a little warning would've been nice! Not a total disaster so far but certainly not getting a great feeling about this breakfast experience! So only after burning my fingers and when the waitress had left did I realise we had no cutlery to start our breakfast - again another unessessary delay waiting about before we could finally start to eat our food. We eventually started eating and another waitress came to our table and asked if everything was okay with our meal. My wife politely pointed out to her that we didn't have any toast with our breakfast which was part of the listed items (she likes to have fried egg on toast and would normally just order this as a breakfast if she could). The waitress had a puzzled look on her face and appeared not to realise that toast was part of the breakfast (not a good look btw) I then noticed that there was also no haggis on the plate either and when I pointed this out the waitress replied 'oh they had ran out' of that item. Frustration building I politely asked what was the supplied 'alternative' item only to be told '"are you wanting something in its place?". Emm....let me think about that for a second... Do I want a replacement item for something that should have been there and im going to be paying for?.....Of course I blooming do!! I said in my head. With that the waitress left for our 'replacement' items having not even asked what we wanted as the replacements (gee-whizz!). After seeing our obvious frustrations we got chatting to 2 lovely couples who were sitting to the table next to us and their experience wasn't any better - 2 of their cooked breakfasts got promptly sent back as they were cold, their other 2 breakfasts were nowhere to be seen and one of the lovely ladies was missing a drink!. Anyway back to our sorry saga of an experience. By the time our toast and 'replacement" items ( 2 black puddings) arrived to us I had actually finished my breakfast and my wife only had her fried egg left to put on her blooming toast! I wasn't even going to eat the black pudding out of pure protest of the fawlty towers style service but my belly got the better of me (im a big boy remember) and ate it. Quickly sipping the last of her Cappuccino my wife wanted out of there fast! We said our goodbyes to the lovely couples sitting next to us (they said they are definitely never coming back to Gailes) and left to pay for our 'breakfast' Now most people wouldn't have paid for that type of service but I do - I just never go back and tell others to avoid too. You always get a 'How was your meal?' when you pay but the lassie taking our money KNEW what a disaster it was. What should have been a relaxing short time with my wife (and no weans) turned into a bitter disappointment. We actually hadn't visited Gailes for quite awhile and was really looking forward to our time there. But a big fat nope - rotten! Don't get me wrong the food was actually nice but not even a Gordon Ramsey award winning munch-up could save the disastrous service at Gailes this morning. Standards have definitely slipped a lot there. If even the basics are lacking then its gonna be a slippery road ahead for this...

We went for an overnight stay to the Gailes for my husbands birthday. We were allocated Room 38,which had a nice view of the small wedding pavilion and pond/fountain. The room was very clean and comfortable. King sized bed,tv,tea and coffee facilities, modern bathroom with bath and shower, full wardrobe,iron,hairdryer,2 chairs,a small table, bedside tables, mood lighting, spotlessly. Very nice! There is a lift, but the hotel only has 1 floor anyway. We booked dinner within the hotel at Coast restaurant. Very nice little restaurant with plenty of different table capacities for couples or larger parties. There is a good range of starters, mains, desserts, drinks. We skipped starters, and both had the slow braised steak pie with mash and seasonal veg. This steak pie was heaven on a plate! Packed full of large chunks of tender beef in a rich gravy with lovely golden pastry on top, carrot, turnip, tenderstem broccoli and mash....out of this world in our opinion! We then had lemon meringue pie with poached fruits and drizzled sauce which also had ice cream and whipped cream...my husband had chocolate fudge square, also with ice cream and cream...again,heaven on a plate! We had 2 rum with coke and a lemonade, with a 7% tip I added, our bill was £75....it was a treat, and the food outstanding,so definitely worth it! The staff were all lovely, from the checking in staff to the restaurant staff,to the cleaning ladies. We were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was included in the price. There is a continental range to start, cereal, fruit juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit, pastries etc....then your hot food is cooked to order....again,lots of choice. We opted for the Scottish cooked breakfast (without the haggis, mushrooms and black pudding!)...again,very nicely cooked, everything nice and hot. You have your choice of tea or coffee also. Check out time is 11am. A lovely stay with wonderful food and staff! For snacks etc,we used a nearby Sainsbury's. There is also a B& M store and a Farmfoods. We also did a walk along the harbour, which was lovely,as it was sunny. All in all,an enjoyable stay, and we will definitely return! (Hint for my husband for my...
