Despite me giving 5 stars there are still some negatives- They charge £25 when you arrive (wasn’t aware of this whilst booking) for the mini bar and have to wait for a refund if you don’t use anything. I would much rather have the option upon booking to remove the mini bar and not pay the £25 as someone with 2 dogs the fridge was needed for dog food so had to mess around taking all the drinks out and storing them elsewhere. I asked at the bar for the ‘dog menu’ as I had seen advertised elsewhere and was told there wasn’t such thing. Feeling slightly confused and embarrassed i walked back to my room and saw the sign that said ‘please ask to see our dog menu’ at the reception. As the reception is self service and there was no one around, I assumed that the bar would be the best place to ask but it seems no one was aware of such thing. Overall- The hotel is beautiful, there’s such attention to detail. The decor is by far the best I’ve seen in any hotel. Even at the end of our stay I was noticing little things that I hadn’t seen prior, it’s very unique and I love that it’s not just a bog standard hotel. Location is perfect, there’s a bus stop directly outside. Plenty of parking. The WADOBE is one of the best features of the hotel, with professional dog washing equipment, bike storage and a boot wash. Room- 8/10 we booked the medium room and there was plenty of space, everything was clean and fresh. Bed was comfortable and had everything we needed. Some slight negatives were the towels were not replaced in the 3 nights we stayed. The milk was topped up after the first night but not the second. The room was slightly warm at times, the main radiator wasn’t on but the towel rail was on constantly. Food- 8/10 we had the pizza and spaghetti on one night which was perfect and then on another night we had the burger and steak. Steak was rather dry and the brioche bun on the burger was far too crisp.

My recent stay at hotel was significantly marred by an unpleasant incident in the lounge area. While I understand that hotels have rules, the way this particular situation was handled was unacceptable and left me feeling targeted and unwelcome. My friends and I decided to enjoy a quiet meal in the lounge. It was a calm evening, with few other guests present. Without any prior indication that this wasn't permitted, a staff member approached us with an accusatory tone, stating we were not allowed to eat there and should move to our room. This in itself was frustrating, but the staff member's demeanor was what truly upset me. She was not polite or apologetic; rather, she implied that our attempt to eat in the lounge was "unethical." This accusation felt completely unwarranted. We were not disruptive, nor were we aware of any signage indicating we were doing anything wrong. A guest, who appeared to be enjoying drinks, had clearly complained about us. The staff member's selective enforcement of this supposed rule, targeting us while ignoring the other patron, suggested a clear bias. It felt as though we were being singled out unfairly. A polite explanation and a gentle redirection would have been perfectly acceptable. Instead, we were publicly reprimanded and made to feel incredibly uncomfortable. This experience tainted my entire stay. While the hotel itself might have some positive aspects, the poor customer service and the accusatory approach of the staff member in this instance were deeply disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel based on this experience, as it clearly demonstrates a lack of respect for guests and a questionable approach to enforcing their own policies. A simple act of courtesy and understanding could have made all the difference.

We recently stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and did have a nice stay! We would probably choose somewhere else next time, mainly due to the temperature of the bedrooms being uncomfortably warm.||The room/decor of the hotel is modern, but also cosy with dimmed orange lights and candles. There was a free hot drinks machine available to use, along with some dog biscuits. There were also a few board games which we enjoyed, but some were missing parts/instructions and the selection was limited.||We ate in the restaurant and did not need a reservation, we were quite surprised with how busy it got, as it was only a Thursday! The food here was nice and we would recommend the pizza!||We saw the multiple signs to enter your car registration, or a fine will be received. I had also previously seen reviews of people being fined. There was nowhere to enter our registration and so we asked a staff member, they advised us that this was ok and we didn’t need to enter our reg, due to the cameras being down. I guess we will find out soon, but things like this always make me feel uneasy!||Do note if you are wanting to enjoy walks with your dog you will likely need a car! We scanned the hotel barcodes that advertised walks, this brought up Komoot. All of the routes were specifically for biking and were 4h long and required going along main roads with no paths. I searched using Komoot for actual walking routes, but they were all around a 5min drive. This again was fine for us, but worth noting! ||Room - |The room we were given faced the main road and it was extremely noisy, this was something that didn’t really bother us! ||The heat of the room however is unbearable! We visited in late September, it was cold/raining and we wore coats, but the temperature inside of the hotel bedrooms were extremely warm.||In the room there is no air conditioning, only a small standing fan which really didn’t help with the airflow. It was more our dog i was concerned for due to her long coat, i felt extremely guilty as she must have been even warmer than ourselves!||Even if this hotel was 10/10 i couldn’t stay again due to the heat of the rooms, it is unfair on the dogs. ||For dogs - |When looking for a hotel/airbnb there were a few that had no charge, some £10 per pet = whole stay. But these hotels were not specifically for staying at with dogs, which is why we chose bike&boot.||To say the hotel is dog friendly and caters to dogs, they do not provide much. Especially at £15 per a night for a dog.||There is one water bowl at the reception and a few dog biscuits in jars around the hotel (no ingredients if your pup has allergies). A tennis ball was provided and a rug in the bedroom, again we thought a water/food station or a few treats might have been included in the rooms. ||There is a dog washing station which is a great add on, but no tools for grooming such as a brush so you would need to take your own. ||There is a tiny patch of grass at the front for the dog exercise area (toilet), again you would think being dog friendly and the amount of dogs at the hotel this would be at least double the size. Onetime i realised i forgot a poop bag so went back up to the room the get one, again it would add to the dog friendly if there could be a dispenser on the wall of...

Stayed here when I was cycling in the area.||It’s a good location for that as a base to visit the peaks and trails in the area. ||The hotel is really nice, clean and welcoming, not many staff around when I arrived and the automated check in didn’t work so had to get help from the bar area. ||All the staff members onsite however were very friendly and helpful no complaints about the team. ||Got my room sorted and then had to register my car, this is one thing I didn’t like, maybe give an option to register my car when booking the hotel so it’s pre-registered. I did mess up when registering, it was easy to miss the number of days and tried to change it and I got a PCN for it. This was already cancelled when I went to appeal it. The interface could do with changing to make it user friendly as the days option was easily missed. ||My room was good, very comfortable and had all the amenities I could want, good coffee, a safe, decent shower and good towels. Bed was comfortable. A really good room. ||Bike Storage - I was in the area as I wanted to cycle the trails, usually my bike would be in my room on previous trips so the onsite storage seemed a good idea. The storage is ok, I didn’t like the type of hanger as I couldn’t really secure my bike inside the storage unit as I would like to (securing through the rear wheel and frame) but the unit itself was locked overnight and access controlled with CCTV so was secure but just not securing it how I liked was a bit of a worry but it was all ok. The unit had charging for e-bikes power banks and a hose available to wash your bike down which was good. ||Breakfast - continental style with bacon but the breakfast was really good, lots of choice and could really fill up with cereal, croissants, eggs, pancakes, bacon, coffee, juice and whatever was there. It was a really good selection and didn’t feel the need to have a full fry up as this left me pretty full. The Raspberry Croissant’s were excellent and wish I could have taken them with me. ||Also they have films shown onsite but I don’t use that facility but I did use The Retreat a nice quiet area to relax with a coffee and cake after a day riding the trails. ||I did eat in the restaurant onsite as well probably because it feels a bit of an isolated location by the food and service was very good, beer was a bit high in price but that’s my only complaint. ||Should be aware this is a dog friendly hotel and if you don’t like dogs then it’s not for you, I love dogs and had no issues you wouldn’t even know there were any there until they come and say hello. ||I’d definitely come back to this hotel and stay again when I return to the Peak District and I’d recommend it as a great...

We are the owners of 2 dogs and go walking frequently in the Peaks, and had very recently tried the Bike & Boot hotel in Scarborough and was pleasantly surprised at the concept hence trying the one on Hope. We did so hoping to escape the annoyance of fireworks and the quiet location of this hotel did not disappoint… in fact it was a blissfully firework free NYE. We do not live far so we purely stayed for this purpose but the hotel is tastefully quirky decorated, rooms are very nice, clean, shower delightful. TV works with not having to upgrade the Wifi speed if you want to watch a Netflix movie, however there is a mini movie theatre if you wanted to use that. We saw plenty of dogs being washed and groomed in the free facilities on site. We did eat in the Baraca Cafe Restaurant, which was nice enough food (more cheese on the pizza would have been nice) but they were freshly made. The dessert was fabulous. The cocktails were really good too… freshly squeezed pineapple juice (they will make any you want) but on menu the Bakewell tart tasted just like one! Dogs are allowed all round the hotel, which is great as usually we get put in a little room with a hundred other dogs. Staff were sooooo friendly which was nice and welcoming. The bus is just outside which could take you into Hope etc or Hathersage if you wanted to use it. Things that could in the future make it even better… maybe a little bit of a dog walk around the grounds for their ‘business’ would be nice instead of around the carpark… which is good for cars but not for paws, however don’t let that put you off as the walks in the Peaks would make up for it really. The lounge bit which is cute and cosy with really good free coffee and cake at 4pm… could be made a bit bigger, dogs like a bit more space to feel comfortable (well my diva dog does) so another cosy room would be my preference. All in all we would recommend this hotel and having been in many of the pubs/hotels around here it’s is perfect for the dog walkers, reading those who want tap beer… well there’s plenty of pubs they can cycle or walk to, can’t all be the same! It’s a new place so the new bushes that have been planted will grow and blend in the new hotel, nothing wrong with the banners… how else would you see it or advertise. Anyway we will going back especially for bonfire night!! Thanks...
