The cafe is lovely, located in the Hope Valley Garden Centre, a great little garden centre i may add. They were on the busyish time of day and the staff struggling a little. We ordered hot sandwich and a tasty cake for afters. However, the cakes and tea came first (so did the couples opposite us) and the hot sandwich 25 mins later. So by the time we got to eat the sandwich, our tea was cold and felt a little full after eating cake first. Would we stop and eat here again? No, would we stop here again for a brew, probably yeah. The brother and sister arguing was a little put off as well. Not nice to see/hear.

The recommendations seemed positive and as I was close by I decided to go for coffee on this miserable day. As the customers appeared mostly of old females with crutches and sticks it was very noisy and quiet cramped. The staff were kept busy and I could tell that their jobs are quite demanding. The café was decorated in the obligatory style for the season but the toilet was out of order. There are outside seats and they were occupied in spite of the weather. The coffee was very good and very welcome. I found the noise emanating from the old women quite overwhelming so I didn't remain long.

Great little cafe with lovely coffee and home made cakes. The lady who runs the cafe is very pleasant and friendly as are the rest of the staff. My husband and I love the beautiful drive over to the cafe which is in an area with other small independent shops and garden centre. It's easily accessible, with tables inside and out and Customer toilet. I would highly recommend a visit

We had to wait whilst the 2 young unhappy staff worked and the older guy chatted to his mate. Then we had to wait 20-30 mins whilst the older guy was still chatting to his mate and another table who came in after us was served first (they’d also ordered hot beverage and cake). I had tea and cherry Bakewell which smelled like wet dog (actually made me want to vomit). Tea was ok and my partner enjoyed his carrot cake (hence 2 stars). Never again. It’s certainly more style over substance!

There’s no apology, no acknowledgment, no learning and no responsibility taken. Just laughing at
your own bad customer service and smelly bad cake? Or the fact that you only like nice comments?

We all rely on our senses: look, smell & taste so I saw them, they looked tasty so that’s why I paid money for one, was looking forward to eating it but when it came to eating and I smelt it, I couldn’t eat it and believe me, I was really disappointed. I’m surprised you didn’t notice an uneaten cake.

I know you’ll have read my previous comment, so glad something cheered you guys up, as you looked like you needed it.

Thank you for liking my food photo, it takes a lot of practice as I love eating nice food. I’m sure you’ve got enough food photos from your regulars though...

In response to your reply: you upset us as paying customers by kicking us out and then having the audacity to still charge us. So if you have chosen to appease other customers and didnt consider us as customers then you can refund us. Our bill was ÂŁ25. I'll be in touch. Thanks.

We are local Not all dogs are welcome at this place. It says 'dog friendly' on the door but it's selective. We have a slightly anxious puppy and hoping to get a bite to eat after a stressful move and all our belongings in boxes. We were told to leave as our dog was barking due to ANOTHER DOG BARKING FIRST on the opposite end and then a presence of a new dog who was whimpering a lot and sat near us. We were getting our dog to settle, and she did after a few minutes but were told to leave if our dog continues barking. We ordered food but hadn't received it so asked to pay for our coffees only and go but they came back to tell is they had already made the food so after kicking us out we still had to pay for the food. We had it as takeaway but would have appreciated that if we are told to leave then you don't take our...

Called today while in the area and was so glad we did, we entered the car park and walked about 50ft from the disabled spaces and sat down inside. There were plenty of seating, inside & out to choose from and the menu is full of fresh local food to eat in or take out. It is dog friendly and you are spoilt for choice on what to have when looking at the menu. We decided on the minted lamb burger with fresh salad and home made coleslaw served on a sourdough bread bun, absolutely delicious and finished off with a lovely pot of tea. Very clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful, it was very busy while we were there but everything went to plan, would definitely visit again when in the area but my only gripe was the state of the car park with it's uneven surfaces and pot holes but I'm sure with the renovation going on, this will be sorted in the not too...
