The Premier Inn was generally ok, except their failure to check our requirements, one question it seems, ie we booked 2 rooms for 4 adults and 2 children paying for our breakfasts as well as accomodation.|We also had dinner in the Beefeater, waitress took our drinks order and brought 4 pints and 2 halves of coke max to our table, spilt all of it, mainly over my daughter! We know accidents happen but there was no effort to reseat us even though there were options available, in the end we got up and moved ourselves, we asked for replacement drinks 3 times and in the end my daughter went to the bar herself to ask for them. We ordered our food and when it came 3 of the 6 plates had incorrect items, that was sorted quite quickly. But by this time it was late, none of us wanted any dessert, even the children.|At breakfast we presented ourselves and were greeted with a very brisque "have you booked" to which I confidently said yes and we've paid for it, "well you haven't booked" you're not on the list, which is where the question I mentioned at the beginning of the review came in, did the receptionist ask you if you wanted to book a table, I to which I responded surely the fact we paid for it in advance would answer that! By which point I must admit I was getting a bit annoyed, she flung a dismissive hand at the empty table for 8 behind us and said you'll have to sit there until we can sort you out. We sat and waited nearly 35 minutes before anyone spoke to us again (except to say we're very busy with people who've booked their tables).|When we ordered our breakfast it came about 25 minutes later only 1 of our 6 plates had the| right items we'd ordered, the waitress brought a bowl of extras ie sausages bacon tomatoes hash browns, no apology and said there you go pick what's missing out of that! Utter shambles and I speak as someone who's stayed at Premier Inns hundreds of times with...
Read moreWe stayed here because we have a wedding in this area and went for our pre-booked breakfast this morning. We booked for the continental but decided to get a full cooked breakfast to fill us up a bit more before the wedding and Jane was great at helping us upgrade the breakfast easily before we were sat. We were sat and served our made to order breakfast quickly and everything was really easy to find. The staff were all bubbly, funny and helpful (big shout out to Jane, Kerry and Stella for their great service and for being so kind and welcoming). We were told Stella was in training but she was absolutely amazing and really helpful. If we hadn’t have been told she was shadowing I would have just assumed she’d been there for a while! It just made us have such a nice experience having the staff being so personable as opposed to just being sat down and left to serve ourselves like we’ve had at some other premier inn restaurants. Really busy restaurant but they made sure that everyone was catered for and we weren’t waiting long at all for our breakfast.
The room has everything you’d need including a fan which is really great for me as I’m pregnant and far too hot at the moment. Just an overall good premier inn. I didn’t catch the name of the person who checked us in last night (around 9.30pm on the 8th of August) but they were also lovely and very helpful.
Only fault was that I didn’t realise it would be stairs and no lift at the hotel and we had big heavy bags. Our fault for not double checking/mentioning that a ground floor bedroom would be handy but good to know for anyone that would need a...
Read moreArrival and check in was easy as with most primer inns the staff are polite and friendly. The room was pleasant, but quite dark the lighting wasn't great. Beds comfy and most importantly everything is clean, only one key given in a family room is really frustrating though!! I think the price we paid was overly excessive for the location and time of year probably being mugged off because its half term. Our biggest problem with the restaurant next door I know with a beefeater your to expect value but I wouldn't reccomend breakfast. The chap running the show looked like he was about to collapse under the madness. The floor was absolutely filthy, bread and muffins and dirty cutlery even yoghurt pots literally lay in our path to the table. We where advised to help ourselves to continental and then our order taken for a cooked breakfast which I found disappointing. The set up for the continental was bad no glass for juice, no coffee or tea and literally the whole side covered in Milk. Clearly little fingers had been helping themselves. I have worked for a well known chain of pubs and provided these services, clearly the staff or lack thereof are to blame. Such a shame love premier inn but this isn't a quality...
