This place is shockingly slow on service. We arrived at our booked time, and were told we had to wait a further 5 minutes until we would be taken to our table. 15 minutes had then passed and still nothing. Finally, at 10 past, 25 minutes later, after asking we were eventually taken to our table. So, half an hour later we were finally seated and given drinks. Our waitress then forgot about us, and eventually we had our orders taken. A man in a shirt, seemingly to take charge, asked if we had already had our main, which we hadn't. An hour into actually arriving at the venue, and we hadn't even had our starters ordered. It's a shame, the food is usually lovely, but the service is just awful.
Here's an update the morning after. We eventually got our meals and everything was fine, the food was alright like I was expecting it to be. When the second round of drinks, again, eventually, got to us, the waitress attempted to balance the whole tray of 5 cokes on the edge of the table, and about 3 of them landed straight on my lap, and on my camera that was sitting on the floor to the side of me. 2 other guests, either side of me, got coke on them too. This was turning out to be a bad night. Restaurants normally take the old glasses and drink bottles away before getting the next round, but no, this waitress decided to leave the multiple glasses on the table, and then add more.
The manager was very apologetic towards me and the group, giving us all good amount of discount for the problems we had suffered. In total, we were at the restaurant 15 minutes after closing time, due to us all trying to pay from a bill that couldn't be worked out properly. The manager was very helpful and sympathetic, and was more helpful than any of the rest of the staff had been throughout...
Read moreNever again will I go to the Thomas wyatt beefeater. The food was poor, (not to mention it was cold and portion size was incredibly small). The service was even worse, we were booked for 4.30, didn’t even get asked to order until 5.15, then once we ordered it was 6.10 before our food come out (cold). Once we had attempted and then given up eating the incredibly chewy and unedible Yorkshire puddings, we decided to try and cheer ourselves up with a pudding, (I mean how hard can it be to mess a pudding up???). After ordering a simple ice cream for my 1yr old, we waited another 40mins for 1 scoop of ice cream in which time my baby fell asleep bored of waiting. After asking why the service is incredibly slow, the management dug deep into the book of excuses and said they had taken a load of extra tables to accommodate another of their restaurants which had to close. (After panning around the seating area, i was amazed by the amount of empty tables that surrounded us in my attempt of trying to find these ‘extra customers’ they had taken). After laughing off their excuse, the manager continued to carry on her story of how they were so busy not giving in that her restaurant had provided a shocking service. Anyways, I will never being going back to the Thomas wyatt and I can only hope those reading this review choose another restaurant, one that’s competent enough in at least delivering the service deserved by the...
Read moreWe arrived as was seated very quickly, so we thought this looked promising. Given a breakfast menu wasnt told about helping ourselves to breakfast/drinks. Had cereal, etc , ordered our cooked breakfast. When it arrived, my husband had black pudding missing, and mime had hash browns missing. We both had ordered poached eggs, which were more like hard bolied. I had 1 of everything expect tomatoes, and my husband was given 2 of everything he ordered. We won't ask how many eggs, etc . The eggs were very small compared to what i have a home and when stayed at other hotels. The food was that hot, either . We finished our cooked breafast and had some delicious warm chocolate croissants. Which we had just finished when the waitress appeared with our missing black pudding and hash browns in the same bowl. They should if ben in separate bowls as i hate black pudding . Though out the breakfast will were not asked once if everything was ok. The staff were busy and maybe needed to have more on at weekends. We paid and wasn't even asked how everything was. Tea was very hot, so that was good. Coffee from your machine was awful, so hubby said. Unfortunately, i dont think i be rushing back on mynext rare...
