The location is close to the airport but it wasn’t that easy to get to and from the airport without a taxi. The taxi is only a few minutes but it wasn’t cheap. There’s a bus from the train station part but it’s a bit of a walk from the terminals, and it didn’t go the way google maps said it would so i had to take a cab anyway on my way to the hotel. My Uber from the hotel to the airport at 5 am was 16 pound so it’s not even that cheap though it’s close. There’s really no easy option but taxi at that time with bags.

The room was very hot. There’s no AC and the fan didn’t work. I asked for a new fan and they didn’t have any to spare. They said they’d look and try to bring me one but I didn’t get one, as they were full and don’t have enough.

Rooms are comfortable enough but very basic, most of the outlets didn’t work, the heating/cooling unit in the room didn’t work, I had to sleep with the window open since the room was 27 degrees , which made it very loud at night as I faced the highway.

The lobby is redone and modern, the service is very friendly. Every staff member was pleasant.

All in all you get what you pay for and it’s clean for a stop over, but it’s not near anything really so it’s ok for sleeping but a transfer at the airport station and a bus and train to the town center. I walked about 30 minutes to a sushi spot for dinner from the hotel, the highway does have a side walk but anything to eat or drink is a bit far if you don’t want to stay on site for the bar/restaurant.

It’s fine, it just ended up being more of a cost with the Ubers than i expected. If they had an airport shuttle or earlier breakfast for morning travel it would be...

My partner and I desperately needed a place to stay after walking out of another nearby hotel where the bedding was so disgusting, bloodstained duvet and ancient bed, we refused to sleep in that particular hotel. It was approximately 11.30pm when we urgently phoned around any hotel we could spend the night in. After contacting four hotels that were fully booked we contacted the Birmingham Airport Travelodge. We were new to the area and several of the roads, motorways and slip roads, leading to the hotel were blocked off due to roadworks. As a consequence of being lost and roads leading to the Travelodge being blocked off we were really tired and stressed. Being aware of how tired we were, the time of night (now around 12.30pm) and stress we were under an employee named Lucian called us back and stayed on the phone for well over 40 minutes, talking us through directions on alternative routes to our destination. Without his persistence and patience it would have taken us hours to get there, perhaps we would have ever found it as the sat nav just kept taking us round in circles. When we were in sight of the hotel Lucian ended the call to have a hot chocolate ready for us on our arrival, by now it was around 02.00am the following day. He and Rachel, receptionist , greeted us in a very warm and welcoming way, they couldn’t have been more friendly and empathetic. Truly both Lucian and Rachel turned what was previously an horrendous situation into one where we’re able to get a good nights rest. My partner and I cannot thank these two employees enough. If only all workers were as astute and empathetic as they are. Again many thanks...

Room was ok, but man their staff is bad as hell. In the evening, at check in, I advised the gent that I'm leaving for an early flight, would need a wake up call at 4:45 & the paid breakfast around 5-5:15.

Been advised it's all good and will be sorted. Morning came, no wake up call, went down to reception to check on the promised breakfast.

Explained the situation to the 2 ladies at the reception and asked if I could have my breakfast, their first reaction was laughing to my face in a superior way. Been told that they couldn't do that before 6:30. Told them what the gent advised last night, they couldn't care less.

I said, that's absolutely fine and requested a refund for the breakfast. Been advised that due to booking on the cheaper rate, that wasn't possible, as you don't get a refund for a cancellation. I've tried explaining I didn't cancel anything so there's not that case and that refers to the room - that's how it reads on their website - been told it refers to anything they want it to refer to.

On the hotel's website, there's no statement showing breakfast hours. I've asked to speak to a manager, there isn't one in. How convenient. They've pocketed my breakfast money, didn't fullfil their part of a written contract & just expect me to now run to the airport & go through everything on an empty stomach.

Appalling. Avoid the staff, they'll lie to you and laugh in your face, on what their colleagues promised.

Light sleepers be aware, the airport is close and it's loud all night.

Reception even blocked the door I walked out on to smoke a cigarette after their rude as...

Technically, I didn't stay a night as my arrival was in the early hours of the morning after returning to the UK to wait for my connecting train home. However, it was perfect for grabbing a hot shower, a cuppa, and a few hours of sleep. It's too far from both Birmingham International Airport and Railway Station to walk with luggage, so I opted for the bus (X1 & X12) as I was travelling again on the same day a Day ticket was the option suggested by the driver. The hotel was a very short walk from the bus stop and the lady at reception was lovely. She was super helpful, friendly, and got me booked in quickly. My room was perfect for my needs and very comfortable. It was very cold, though, as the window was still open from cleaning. I rectified this by whacking the heating on full whilst in the shower. I made full use of the refreshments facilities in my room. The bed was very comfortable. There were plenty of plug sockets and USB A ports. Booking out was easy. You could just drop your key card at reception. I spoke with the receptionist on leaving, who was also lovely and helpful. Breakfast was available if you wanted (full english and continental). I let reception know that my bathroom door didn't close due to a broken latch, as they can't fix what they're not aware of. I would definitely stay here again as the public transport links are good. I do recommend booking early as with any hotel for the best price. This room cost me half the price of my room at another hotel next to the airport before my flight out.

So I stayed this weekend at Travelodge “Birmingham Airport”. Firstly I would give 5 stars for the staff they were all amazing, friendly and efficient with their service. The room I give 4stars this because they were clean, a decent amount of space, however there was no shelves or drawers to put folded clothes on which meant they had to stay in the suitcase. The hotel does have a restaurant and the breakfast service was fantastic and would give it 5 stars, however I couldn’t really choose any options from the dinner menu as most dishes where Carb, High Fat or sugar based which if you have health conditions requiring low fat/low sugar foods doesn’t leave you much options. However most services like Uber Eats will deliver to the hotel. Which widens the range of food possibilities for the evening. It’s a good bargain for anyone wanting budget priced rooms. There is a lot of Air traffic being next to the airport but to be honest it’ll with the window closed you don’t really notice it, I found it quite calming and slept well for the nights that I stayed.

Great hotel, standard Travelodge really. You get what you pay for. Rooms are slightly on the smaller side, the bathroom is definitely on the smaller side. There was a tear on my bedding unfortunately but nothing major. After checking in, my room key didn't work. I went back to reception 3 times, each time they issued a new key card and it wouldn't work. Finally the manager I believe he was, said just swap my room as the reader on the door may need reprogramming. Breakfast is bog standard. Hot food wise there were scrambled eggs, sausages (not sure if there's a veggie option), mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon, hash browns and pancakes. Usual bread options including bagels. Cereals, fruit salad and fresh fruit, yogurts. Tea's, coffees, apple juice, orange juice. But when it's busy there's hardly any space to move around, they had a second toaster but no bread near it, everyone was queuing around the toaster with the bread next to it. Right next to Birmingham airport so great location for that.
