Every time we book a Premier Inn room we expect the same standard and value for money, no frills & a comfy room. This Inn is having an extension built so we were fairly tolerant of the old fashioned heating & lighting in the room because we thought that when the new building was finished, the old part would be brought up to date. We mentioned our concerns to the very polite staff who told us, disconcertingly, that many customers had complained about the same shabby conditions, but their company had told them that the old part of the Inn wasn't scheduled for refurbishment. WHAT!!!! I shall list the defects. Mould around the window frame Pathetic lighting in the bathroom Rust around the bathroom mirror Mould around the wash basin A thick duvet with only a sheet offered to cope with warm nights No choice of bed size, only a standard double available All for the "bargain " price" of £174 for 2 nights B & B Also somebody with catering knowledge needs to look up what constitutes a fresh fruit salad.....only oranges, loads of apples, a scattering of grapes and some pineapple. Where were the melon, blueberries, green grapes & red fruits? Very average! Noisy guests & noisy keys to get into rooms didn't help the experience. As is obvious, if the company cares, we will not be using this Inn again & will tell our friends all about it.

Read moreI was Very disappointed when arriving at the hotel to be told the restaurant was closed due to not enough staff to open, then being put in the annex on second floor after after walking in with a stick due to back pain, my own fault for not asking for a ground floor room ,but looking at picture of hotel when booked looked to be grounded floor with restaurant. Then having to ask for a fan because non of the windows opened so the walked down to reception and the air-conditioning was put on full, the receptionist was very helpful but would of helped if there was a phone in the room to call down so didn't have to walk down to reception also felt the room was quite small with only one phone charger point. . We had to go back out in the car for dinner as we didn't want takeaway. Breakfast was very nice apart from a few item's not available. We did go a meal in the restaurant the follow evening to be given an A4 sheet of paperwork of things not available, food well cooked but put on cold plates.. Room was not done on second day or replacement tea, coffee and milk luckily we had brought our own. I must say that the staff on the desk and restaurants were very nice people but I would not stay here again. It was such a shame these things spoilted our short treat away after bad heath over the past two years off ill heath and husband being...
Read moreMost amazing people and Hotels staff I've come across. Checked in near 1am due to railway strikes and my group had become distressed from the journey. The night receptionist, Tristan, was compassionate and understanding of our neurodivergent group and made us feel so welcome. Plenty of teas, a yummy Mcdonalds burger and fries meals from next door and extra duvets and pillows later, we were able to enjoy our first night of comfortable sleep before our Fae Ball event began in the morning. Compliments and no judgement from the staff when we rocked out the rooms in full fae gear ready to make everyone's day. The showers are amazing with bath tub to boot so you can relax and soak. Breakfast was amazing! although I'm really not a breakfast person I know a good brekky when I see it. Another well deserved sleep later and mad rush to the trains in morning meant I accidentally left my Autistic Childs tablet there and didnt realise till i was home 65miles away of course. In my panic I rang the hotel and Spoke to a lovely lady Ellie who assured me not to worry as their honest and lovely cleaners had handed the device into the Front desk! THE AMAZING HOTELS STAFF AND MANAGER MARK KEPT IT SAFE AND ARE NOW POSTING IT TO ME ALL THE WAY IN BRUM AND IM SO SO GRATEFUL FOR THEIR BEAUTIFUL SELVES! saved me and my lil one a lot of panic, upset and...
