Please do not book this. Do not fund this place. We booked the “Luxury Triple Room”. I can’t even explain how far away from luxury that room was. Let’s start at the beginning… massive party going on in the pub so no one at reception - we go into the pub to ask for the key and we are waiting in a “charming” hallway (looks like a train station toilet) just to be given the key to the room across the reception desk (room 9) - wall to wall to the pub (music blasting). We walk in, smells rotten. Like the windows haven’t been opened in a century. And that’s because they weren’t. Check the pics, you can’t open the windows! There’s some sort of tent the windows open into so you get about 2 mm of air, max! Besides the horrific smell, massive fire hazard. The bathroom vent didn’t work either so imagine a room that hasn’t been freshened up since it was built. No shower cabin of any kind. No heating either. The radiator was broken and there were to electric heaters (looked pathetic) that were also broken. Dirt everywhere. Look at that air wick! No words. We booked this to attend an event close by. We drove back home at 12am after the event because we could not sleep in that bed and in those rat smelling sheets. Find another trade, business owners!

Location wise The King William is conveniently situated in close proximity of Luton Airport. The staff & the locals were very approachable and friendly, the bar area & restaurant were spacious and cosy. Beers were great, food was too but served on cold plates which rather spoilt the occasion. Our room was extremely small. Two small windows both looked out onto a dismal flat roof. Bed was comfy and bathroom, although small & awkward, was acceptable. Overall our room was cold and when the heating system finally clicked in, was annoyingly noisy as were the creaking floorboards both inside our room and the adjoining corridors. To be honest, the facilities probably matched the price we paid so no real malicious complaints. For a one night stay would I return, probably yes.

My room only had 2 small windows both of which had broken seals & were mouldy & overlooked an ugly flat roof, hence the curtains were shut. The toilet seat was broken, the sink wouldn't drain correctly. The shower head was minging as was the sealant, the ceiling was mouldy. The clothes hanging shelf was placed so you were going ro bag your head on it as you squeeze past tge bed. The smoking area was occupied by non residents & an aggressive dog. The whole place seemed unfinished. £45 for a room!....Absolutely dreadful, avoid.

Me and my sister booked a room last minute, we was waiting at reception but got left waiting and had to go into the pub. The manager come and checked us in, he had been drinking whilst working informed us that he lived on site so if we needed anything he could help. He also told us by 8.30 the pub would start becoming empty and we wouldn't hear a thing.. we went into the pub for dinner we both got lasagna with garlic bread and salad was absolutely dreadful!! We went into our room on our way in we saw people (man and woman) drinking in the bar walking freely into the free room next door (we knew it was free as we got offered room 9 or 10) to do what ever they was doing then left giggling and slammed the door! We tried to settle ready for bed the bar was extremely loud this was at 9pm we asked the staff to close the door between the pub and hotel which they did but it didn't make a difference!! We ended up falling asleep and was woken up at 3am by loud drunk people on our landing! They was still there by 4.30 thankfully we was able to get back to sleep... then to be woken up at 7am by the fire alarm!! We left the building and waited outside 5 mins still no sign of the manager on site so I called 2 numbers off the list outside the reception door!! Finally a lady answered and said she will be as soon as possible 10 minutes later she arrived and was very apologetic and turned the alarm off and said it was probably someone smoking in their room which she still didn't go up stairs to check!!

Absolutely dreadful place to stay. Definitely not worth the money The service was not what is expected!! And to top it off we had diarrhea the next day after our food!!!

Location is nice but that is all I would say was nice about it..

And alot of drink drivers leaving...

Overall, this is a charming 17th century pub offering small rooms which are basically equipped. This is part of its charm and the prices reflect this. Whilst we have become accustomed to modern, well equipped but souless hotels we feel quite priveledged to have stayed here and feel some of its history.

Would we stay here again? Yes, but only overnight and if there was no party booking!

Pros: Friendly and helpful Staff Bar is interesting and full of character Rooms are light and characterful. Limited Bathroom space used well. Food is good.

Cons: Accessability of rooms for people, like me with mobility issues...lots of stairs, no lift! No Soundproofing! - loud party going on until past midnight, toilets use pumps which seemed ro be going off all night! Every word from next door can be heard! Airport noises started about 6am. Beds are basic, thin mattresses on mdf board used for painting in a previous life. Found two double socket for kettle and tv, air freshener...no USB ports! Curtains are not blackout! Bathroom door requires shaving as it drags on carpet, room door does not catch closedand can only be secured by key. The fire extinguisher outside...
