!!!!Wandon park is under threat, Luton council want to take this park away from us leaving no alternative in the county near by. This green is important to all the locals health and well being. The local area struggles with traffic already (Luton being 1 of the most heavily congested towns in the country) And they want to build 54 houses and 4 flats this will be devastating to the town. Please leave a comment to show this park is used and loved.
Wandon park is just a big open green with 2 smooth level paths running through each side of it. It's enjoyed by dog walkers, children learning to ride bikes/scooters, play ball games or just a place to sit down and chill for a while.

Read moreRelatively new park. But some of the equipment in children's playground already unusable. e.g. roundabout wouldn't turn and the pit the trampoline in is filled to the top with water.
There are flat paths around the remainder of the space for walking or running around. But there is nothing but grass to walk past. No trees. No wildflowers. No planted flowerbeds. Not even a goal post or basketball hoop. It is only the irregular shape of the loop of the path which makes it much different to an athletic track.

Soon it will no longer be possible as Luton's scum Council have allowed their wholly owned building company to build 60+ residences. Even changing their own byelaws to make this happen. Corruption?? Who knows but it certainly looks dodgy. Some potentially spurious land deal with Herts council also to facilitate some dodgy looking land swap. Also all the additional vehicular traffic will only go from the already very busy Hayling Drive/Telscombe Way, NOT from Selsey...
