I won't give one star as I never have before and honestly that feels cruel, but myself, my partner and my grandmother didn't really enjoy our stay here. Before arriving, my nan received a map of the site, it clearly showed multiple car parks but that was not the case when we arrived. We found one official car park, which was just a large stony area and a smaller tarmacked area which we aren't sure is an official parking area but people parked there anyway. The drive onto the site is quite narrow, so if you are coming in and someone is coming out it becomes VERY difficult for cars to pass each other, currently they are building further things on site, I did not investigate but that meant a lot of lorries or trucks were on the driveway onto the site, this made it even harder to drive in. It's advertised to have a games room on site, couldn't find it. There is also no shop on site, so if you need essentials you will have to drive to the next town over to do your shopping. To get to our particular holiday home we were renting we had to pass the construction which meant the road we travelled down hadn't actually been fully built, and the turn was very sharp, not easy to maneuver around, especially with cars parked there instead of the car park.
Within the holiday home... They provide washing up liquid ect in your little holiday home but not enough to last you a week, maybe a day or two. The fridge didn't seem cold-cold but food was fine in there. The kitchen wasn't very well equipped, and the knifes were not very sharp. We struggled to cook meals there to be honest. The beds were comfy and appeared clean. Plenty of towels provided. Not much loo roll provided so you'll have to buy your own.
The biggest issue we came across while here was the ants. While staying there the place appeared clean and we cleaned the surfaces during and after meals and we didn't leave food out, yet somehow, every single day, we were having to kill around 200 ants in the kitchen and dining room area. They had clearly been there a while as they knew what routes to take and we never found them outside of the kitchen and dining room area. The strangest thing for us was while on a killing spree, we found multiple ants running away and going into the gaps in the walls by the kitchen counters so clearly there is a nest in the wall there.
Overall... We didn't have a terrible stay, we were warm and comfortable, WiFi was fairly decent, had hot and cold water ect. It had everything you need, buuuuut, the site is half built, it's awkward to get in and out, parking isn't really enforced in allocated areas, no on site shops, minimal staff other than reception, and lots and lots...
Read moreWe have stayed in many holiday parks/villages around the English coast and I have to say Mundesley is the nicest one yet. First time staying here so when we arrived we were all amazed by the stunning bungalow we have to stay in this week. A two bedroom home away from home with full kitchen including dishwasher, full fridge freezer, washer dryer, full oven/hub and microwave. Spacious open plan living space with dining area, family bathroom, master bedroom is on-suite which was a pleasant surprise. The bungalow is very clean, bright, welcoming, and well maintained. An outside seating area over looking the green is lovely to have meals in or just sit with a cuppa and enjoy the sun. The staff around the village are very helpful and so friendly. A lovely games/family room with multiple sofas, large tv, pool and snooker tables, and ping pong gives you something to do as a family if you don’t want to go off site. Shops are nearby to get all your shopping from for your self catering stay. A short walk to the beach along the cliff paths or drive the 6 minutes to park close to the beach if you don’t fancy the walk. The views over the sea are stunning, as to are the inland views across the country side. If you want a stay away from the hustle and bustle, spending quality time with your partner or family then Mundesley Holiday Village is the place for you. Great Yarmouth is a 40 minute drive up the coast if you want arcades, pleasure beach and all the holiday activities like that. Cromer is in the other direction about 20 minutes if you want more of a look around, historical, relaxed atmosphere. This place really has something for everyone and is so nice...
Read moreUninvited Guests! So I have wanted to visit Mundesley Holiday Village for a while. We were very excited to book a New Year get away. On arrival the chalet looked perfect with a nicely fenced in yard for the dog. The chalet (27 Mannington) was really nice inside, lovely and clean, spacious and had everything you could need. The addition of a bottle of bubbly was a very nice touch. On our first evening in the chalet it was very windy and the strange noises we could hear were put down to that. By the second and third night we realised we weren't alone!! From around 11pm and into the early hours we were tormented by gnawing and scuttling in the roof and in the walls. After being woken up at 2am with the gnawing noise in the wall right by our heads we decided enough was enough and packed to leave. We contacted the site where a gentleman "Thanked" us for letting him know but never offered an apology. He said he would get maintenance to look into to it. We pointed out that the 3 bait boxes up the side and around the back of the chalet would indicate that maintaince were clearly already aware! Again no apology! I would like to think that this was an isolated incident. There was no signs of vermin in the chalet itself but unless dealt with quickly they will certainly be inside soon! Our New Year break was cut short and left us feeling disappointed by the whole experience. I don't think it was too much to expect some kind of apology and an offer to move us or even to have sounded shocked and alarmed that this was the situation but nothing! I hope they get this sorted before letting the chalet to someone else and ruining another longed...
