Just spent an idyllic week at Samphire Cottage. The house was beautifully decorated, very clean, and very well equipped for a family get together, with big sunny gardens to boot. It’s location 2 mins walk from the coastal path and marshes is really special. Swimming along the marsh creeks at high tide and then trotting home for a warming hot chocolate has to be one of my top experiences of the year! 10 mins walk in the other direction takes you to a Coast Hopper bus stop and the lovely Stiffkey Stores and cafe. Read moreOn there webpage they make a big thing of the refurbishment completed in 2004-2005, I would suggest that this was the last time the place was cleaned and the walls were painted! On arrival we were greeted by an infestation of flies in the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. The window sills were covered in dead flies plus the kitchen and appliances were filthy. There was everything you needed on arrival (tea, coffee, milk, herbs, oils, hand soap, washing up liquid and even dishwasher tablets. The cottage was well appointed and lovely and warm (there was no starter pack of logs for log burner as advertised). The garden was very well enclosed and excellent for the dogs.
