At the end of a lovely little four day trip to North Norfolk, we made a stop here on the way to Blakeney for a seal boat trip. I thought it looked beautiful and the coffee was nice. However, the visit was completely let down by how judgemental and rude one of the female staff members was (interestingly this has also been noted in other reviews!)
Our two children were very excited to pick out a little souvenir each from the selection of fidget type toys, as well as a present for their cousin. I began to have a little look through the basket of toys to see prices and how they worked (as you would with most items such as toys when you are browsing to buy!) The kids were also very happily having a look with me and showing me items they liked.
Bearing in mind I was standing right next to our children and supervising whilst my husband ordered coffee - and they certainly werenât messing anything up or being rough, just happily looking at what to buy - I was really shocked when one of the women peered over the counter and rudely told them to stop playing with the toys as âthey are for sale, you know!â Yes, we were obviously aware that in a shop, the items would be for sale.
It really upset both children who were mortified to have been told off for doing nothing wrong and it impacted the whole day. Needless to say we absolutely did not purchase any souvenirs or gifts and will not be recommending a visit here to anyone.
A pretentious little store run by what seem like pretentious people. I mean, if you donât like people itâs probably best not to open a shop! We were very happy to return to Cambridge after this which is a real shame because the rest of the trip and people we met were...

Stiffkey Stores is tucked into a small building on the west side of the quaint village of Stiffkey. Outside, the decoration suits its agricultural surrounding, in the summer there are bunches and pots of plants and flowers. In the winter Stiffkey Stores sports a hearty and festive feel, offering a haven away from the bitter winter cold of North Norfolk. The interior is beautifully rustic and refreshingly unique and matches the goods for sale. The year round coffee offering from London roasters 'Monmouth' is delicious and crafted with an artisan touch. The variety of homemade cakes and pastries are delicious! The only caveats of Stiffkey Stores are the parking, narrow roads, and distance. If it's busy parking may be a struggle as the lot only holds 3 or so cars and the street may only hold 3 itself. Forewarning, the roads are very narrow even for Norfolk so it's important to be careful when going through the village on the way to the Stores. Despite that, this coffee and lifestyle shop is a must when in the North...
Read moreHave visited before and absolutely loved it here, so made a special trip today to come again. We had purchased some things and were going to get coffee and even come back tomorrow to buy some pizzas⌠I was taking a couple of photos of some things I just thought were beautiful/might come back and buy. Or some of them were expensive so maybe Iâd buy another day. When a man working there came up to me and questioned why I was taking photos and that they are an independent store so I should buy from them. Not taking into account the fact that we had already purchased some items and had only just started looking around. We decided to leave without buying anything else because he made me feel really uncomfortable. Not a nice experience. Donât really see how saying that to someone is going to encourage them to shop with you! Still a beautiful store, and the rest of the staff were so lovely. Just this man could do with...
