We arranged a one-night spa break for my daughter’s 25th Birthday (My birthing day). The reception staff, waitresses, room staff, leisure staff we give 5 of 5 stars for their care during our stay. The rooms were good and facilities were great overall. Our issue was with the evening meal!!! Just to note, we were at the Belfry in December 2021 and had the lamb which was more fat than lamb, which we brought to the attention of the manager that night, who offered a resolution. Given this and 2 months later, we decided to have the lamb again. We were asked, by who I assume was the manager of the restaurant that evening, how the food was, so we responded. The lamb was tasteless and had no seasoning, my friend described it as smelling raw, and he said he would feedback to chef. When we added that there was an excessive amount of jus, he told us the amount of red cabbage and jus, was based on Qhotel head office guidance and could not be changed. I asked if they portions were weighed, and he said initially yes, but as staff got used to serving it, they made a judgment. I suggested they reduce the amount of jus in future, but also questioned whether the chef can change the seasoning of the lamb given the Qhotel guidance. Next, we discussed taking uneaten pizza to the room, to which he quoted Natasha’s Law, which having we are all aware of. He explained that the pizza had to be eaten within 2 hours of being served based on Natasha’s law, although we tried to explain to him the law is based on listing ingredients or giving information about ingredients depending on whether you were a restaurant or shop. We then tried to explain the confusion with the menu (attached) which does not specify which items are vegetarian etc, although there are key codes. We attempted to explain the first item of the menu had a vegetarian code, but no other key codes were used for the remainder of the menu. One of the group asked if the classic margarita pizza was vegetarian as there was no symbol, and his response was that there are different types of vegetarians, but as they had had used cheddar most vegetarians will eat cheddar. The actual menu says mozzarella, not cheddar. We discussed other items not symbolized on the menu, but he did not seem to grasp the point being made. He went on to say his chef at the Belfry created and wrote the menu for Qhotel, although when asked to speak to the chef about the food quality and the menu, we were told he was at another Qhotel. In conclusion a somewhat disappointing 2 courses, salmon starter had a good amount if salmon, but only 3 small bread shards, which on reflection were crostini. When asked about the number of crostini served, we told there was nothing that could be done as it was Qhotel guidance for portion sizes. The chicken pate was not in a pot, but a roll, with a good proportion of I think was brioche and crostini. The lamb was disappointing, the jus with the lamb ran into the cabbage, and my cabbage had 2 inedible leaves in it. I informed waitress who returned after speaking to the chef saying they were bay leaves, and apologized on the chef’s behalf. I cook with bay leaves, and remove them before serving, which should have been the case, as they can be spiky. We all felt he was dismissive and did not acknowledge anything we said. I asked if the menu was changing soon as I was coming back in 4 weeks with friends, and he said they should hopefully have the full menu as the current was a reduced menu, so fingers crossed. My cousin and I stayed in your hotel at the Belfry Saturday night for what was meant to be a quiet relaxing night ready for Mother's Day.

Last time we stayed it was wonderful. This time it was the most horrendous stay I think I've ever had in my whole hotel experience over the years.

It began with the first room, which was nice and spacious. Although there was a smelly feet smell in the bathroom which I wasn't happy about. But I thought that maybe the cleaners mops or cloths probably needed to be changed, so it had lingered. We stayed in the room and ordered food that evening as we didn’t want to go anywhere just relax after our message. We asked for salad, burger and "French fries" and received massive chunky chips which we left because they were to heavy and stodgy and not what we ordered, but again it thought no big deal, try and enjoy still.

We just stayed in our room and relaxed because that was the whole point of us staying.

My cousin has had long Covid for 3 months and has really been suffering with sleep, feeling sick, dizzy spells, so this was meant to help her having a break as she's began to get better and sleep better now.

We settled down about 11pm. Lights off and straight after that, there was non stop doors slamming, loud talking on corridors. A group of women?? Just in their room all night laughing and speaking quiet loud literally like they were in our room??!! . The boiler in our room was also making a right racket. Eventually I called up to reception to be moved to another room as we couldn’t take anymore. He took us down one floor and it, he wasn’t that apologetic or helpful but he moved us. The new room seemed okay there at first.

After 20 minutes again we were bombarded with shouting... that woman again could be heard???!!! I went down to reception to complain, to be told there was a party on. But it's finished now. This was at 1.45am and people still wondering around. I got back in bed and it was silent for probably 30 minutes and we were dozing off to suddenly be woken with another woman Nextdoor throwing up right next to the wall and in and out of her bedroom, lights off and on. This continued for a couple of hours.

I was absolutely exhausted anyway myself and looking forward to this break. I'm more exhausted now than I was before the break, I had to go home and make dinner for my mother and then go out with my own children this evening but I feel to exhausted to do anything. My cousin just felt like crying. We've paid for a breakfast because it was wonderful last time but this time we are not even hungry.

I'm absolutely devastated by the whole experience and actually quite shocked that management there simply offered me a part refund and a little off another visit. To be frank I’m quite disgusted, I did want to stay again, only when no events were on. But now I think I just want my money back.

We were in...

Very disappointed in booking the delux room at Nottingham Delta Marriot hotel. Most of the staff were really nice expect for the manager Chris. He tried to threaten to blacklist and call the police. After asking him to call the police he backed down. I also recorded him saying I wasn’t black listed.

The delux room Was in shambles and had cobwebs in the bathroom. The bath tub tab and shower head were leaking causing the whole door to be drenched. Ultimately I slipped going to turn the bath tap off. I hurt my back, elbow, wrist and hip.

My booking was for two nights. The first day my room was not serviced hence my complaints card for maintenance was missed. Cob webs in bathroom, sticky tables. Lights faulty. Whilst using spa I assumed maintenance would have checked the card and issues in my rooms. I had to go to the front desk before I went out for Dinner to show they the many issues in the room. The desk lamp was flickering, the phone in the room didn’t work. On the first day the fire alarms had gone off but none of the staff had informed us it was a false alarm. Guests were outside for nothing. I had informed front desk I suffer from migraines and panic attacks and anxiety. They had contractions on one of the doors. At first chris said no work Was being done until I showed him a photograph of the workmen outside our bedroom Window. That evening I had slipped. Due to the phone in the room not working I had to suffer in pain untilThe next day when I reported it directly to Front desk. The second and last day after reporting my injuries. The hotel choose to turn off their elevators forcing me to walk down the stairs. They also went further to test fire alarms on the last day, 3 times the alarms went off and we were not told these tests would be carried out.

We were offered late check out due to my pain. I attempted to use the spa to relive pain but this didn’t work. I was offered a free lunch which I didn’t except due to the pain I was in. In Fact the head staff Chris was awful, he made me Cry and stating he would call the police and black list me. I then started to recorded him at which point this was a clear bluff and he would not call the police when I asked him too. I really enjoyed my stay up till that point. Most of the staff including Denis were lovely but chris was something else. As it is false threats would have scared me into not complaining. In fact I hadn’t planned on complaining until he had caused me to have an anxiety attack while dealing with me so immorally. I had tried to remain polite and apologised for crying but Chris behaviour was horrendous. Only because I had started to record did he try to retract his awful statements. I am appalled . I have stayed at this hotel on at least four occasions and had no issues. I was shocked at the way I was treated and will NEVER book this...
