Wedding 18.3.23
Thank you so much for giving us the best day of our lives and everything leading up to it. The staff were all lovely and catered for everyone, the food was absolutely amazing and we was told many times it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding. It was so chilled!
There were a few little things I was a little disappointed with was even though I know it says in the contract no confetti, I did have two separate conversations with staff, one being a staff member who has since left saying as long as it was natural biodegradable and done outside it was fine and another manager on one of the wedding showcases In Feb checking that that was definitely okay to which he said yes and it came to the day and my wedding co ordinator on the day told my guests that it was absolutely not aloud. Granted we got to do it outside the church later on that day, I just wish I wasn’t told otherwise beforehand as I purposely bought what I thought was allowed and it caused a bit of stress and confusion.
Also, guests from the wedding in the Lagonda suite were coming to eat from our hog roast that we paid for, I know it’s not a fault of the people who were serving it, but if we have paid for it, guests should be made to quote the name of the wedding they’re attending.
We also got told we had the back of Virage for pictures AND the pergola (I think that’s the right word!) but the wedding that was taking place in Lagonda was using our area yet we was told we couldn’t use theirs and then we was told when we aren’t using ours they’re aloud to?
Lastly, I had a little stressful moment before the wedding when I was told by my wedding stylist that we don’t get the chaivari chairs and we had to hire them. It was a complete surprise and it would’ve been absolutely fine if I’d have known earlier on during the planning stages but it was an unexpected cost a few days before. I’d asked the stylist a few times to send me anything I could potentially be interested in and she never did which is fine but when the chaivari chairs were always set up in the Virage, we should be told what it is included and what isn’t, even in the contract.
Apart from all this it was still amazing, a lot of people have said it was one of the best weddings they attended. I would’ve like to have tried our canapés but unfortunately we didn’t but got told they were also really good! You have kept us informed regarding how the day will go, been so lovely and the bar staff were also great. Thank you for also letting us set up our own things in Virage the night before and morning of the wedding.
We definitely went with the...
Read moreTerrible experience due to reception staff.
Male night receptionist didn't seam to care about the job, was very unhelpful and unprofessional, made me feel like a fool when i told him that i would need a phisical key to lock the room as there wasn't a card key scanner on my room door. "every door has got one, how did you even got in?!" he said. I had to ask him to go and actually verify that in fact there wasnt a scanner for the key card on my door. He didn't even offer to do it, (was around 9.45/10 pm on march snowiest night there was no one else in that reception) and he actually sighed when i asked him to go and check, like if i was being an inconvenience. When in fact, the lack of a key scanner on my door and the inability to locky room door was actually the inconvenience, i then had to wait about 15/20 minutes to know if i was changing rooms or actually getting a key for the room. Very poor service. I didn't even got an apology.
The check out experience was no better, one of the ladie receptionist was alright, the other one just sat there on her computer, not doing a thing and allowed me to wait while her colleague served someone else, not even greating me or acknowledging me in any form.. but all her receptionist skills come to live as soon as 2 English ladies walked through the door.. She was ever so polite, lovely and helpful to them. I felt ignore, and quite frankly insulted as if i was less then others.
The room and hotel itself (premises) were quite nice.. Room was nice and clean and Housekeeping staff was friendly.
Restaurant- only used it for continental breakfast as i dont like hot breakfast. The waitress was lovely. The breakfast itself was a waste of £12.50 as there was bearly anything to choose from. breakfast experience was sub-par at best.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone that i like. The staff turned a possible nice experience into a terrible experience for me.
I appreciate that i will probably get a response to my review, as you normally do in Google reviews, but short of an apology im not really interested any Excuses or any patronising response from management, as your opinion on how you perceive your staff wont change my experience at all, and how they did in fact...
Read moreI stayed at Aston Hall Hotel for the night on the occassion of my brother's wedding. We had a wonderful day and the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Everything to do with the wedding was perfect and the meal was excellent, the portion sizes were huge but very tasty. The disco was good but very loud, maybe I'm showing my age lol. The room was very big, comfortable and spotless. The bed was soft yet not too much, it was comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with a walk-in shower and very modern. I had a good night's sleep and woke up refreshed. The breakfast was good but the full English breakfast could do with a few little tweaks such as a full field mushroom instead of a piece of mushroom, a large tomato instead of a small one and a larger portion of baked beans, the sausage is excellent. There's an unlimited supply of toast that you do yourself and continental breakfast items. I can't comment on the continental breakfast items as I didn't really look at them. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout and the receptionist was very helpful, when I checked in she took my suitcase from me and took me up to my room when she realised that I'm disabled. She showed me a shortcut to the lift which was much appreciated and then she brought me back down to the reception so that I could rejoin the wedding party. I would highly recommend this hotel to others for a lovely stay. This is the second wedding I've attended at Aston Hall Hotel, one each in either suites and they've both gone off without a hitch and both meals provided were excellent. Iwould highly recommend this as a...
