The Skye Picture House — Hotel in Skye

Really cannot fault this place. From the start we arrived early and the hosts gave us a lovely warm welcome and also had the room ready for us which was greatly appreciated. Sarah showed us around and explained everything to us. The views from the guest house are to die for, it was absolutely stunning. The room was immaculately clean and the bed i have to say was one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept on in my life. Me and my friend had the best nights sleep of our whole trip there. The location was an ideal base for us as we were planning on exploring all directions on the island. The breakfast we had each morning was absolutely delicious - a lovely selection of home made items at the buffet and porridge made especially by Sarah upon request. But most of all they were the most perfect accommodating lovely hosts you could ask for. Nothing was ever a bother to them or an issue and we appreciated every little thing from Sarah taking my friends towel and top and drying them off for him after he went for a swim in the loch to going out her way to get the maps out and show us locations to visit that day. We stayed at Skye Picture House for 3 nights and it was a great base for exploring Skye. There is free parking on site and our room wasn’t huge (we knew this from the description when booking) but it was impeccably clean with amazing views. Our hosts were friendly and helpful without being obtrusive, and although we were concerned that some reviews had mentioned noise from other rooms, we didn’t experience any rooms despite the house being fully booked for two of the three nights we were there. ||The gardens are lovely and I was lucky enough to see the local otter while sitting on the outside bench before bed! The breakfasts were tasty (especially the porridge!) but it would have been great if there were more options for vegetarians. My partner loved the smoked salmon and gammon which he said were delicious! However for veggies the choice was limited to eggs or porridge; adding a veggie sausage or bacon option to the menu would really help. ||There was good wifi throughout; and the only downside to us of the room was that the shower pressure is pretty weak - that said the location and views definitely made...

Me and my Partner had a 3 night stay here, we were just blown away with the location right on the banks of loch surround by the drama landscape of the Isles. ||The room was spacious covid A* clean and very tastfully decorated. With a bed so comfy i would have taken it home if it would have fit in the car! The longue come breakfast room was full of literature and even a pair of binoculars for wild life spotting. ||Breakfast was delicious perfectly cooked poached eggs! ||Our host Stuart, who was flying solo for the weekend with Sarah away, was so welcoming and with vast knowledge of the island and could not do enough for us. ||In essence our stay here was as perfect as it could ever have been and will definitely be recommending and returning for many...
