Thanks Expedia for having this hotel available at this time.||A much sort after hotel! We spent over two hours trying to get there. The hotel is situated on Ermine Street South near the village of Papworth Everard. The road however is closed at both ends because of a major road building project. We drove from one end of the road to the other several times, trying to gain access to the hotel. Finally, at one of the blocked roads, a site worker opened the barrier and told us that the hotel could be found further along. We were to drive slowly and have our hazard warning lights flashing at all time. We travelled until we found a further barricade where we were told to drive the final 100 yards along the pavement to get to the hotel.||All around us was a massive road construction site with heavy plant machinery working away. We wanted to turn around and leave immediately, but having an early morning appointment decided to stay for the night. The work would probably stop in the early evening. ||We decided to go out for an evening meal but couldn't walk anywhere as the site was "a closed site" and no access was allowed so I had to drive back down the pavement |and get the workmen to open the barriers again to get a meal, a process we had to reverse to get back to the hotel.||We were wrong about the work stopping, the work continued throughout the night. In the early hours, the work was being carried out directly outside of our bedroom. The noise of the heavy machinery, the smell of the hot bitumen and the brightness of the arc light used to illuminate the site made sleep impossible. I would not want anyone to have the experience that we have had at this hotel and, in all honesty, cannot understand why it is open. Thankfully, we did not have children with us. ||I should comment on the room itself.|The shower temperature could not be adjusted and was set to a temperature that could scald.|Unusual set up regarding power. Some plug sockets and switches were not wired up while others were upside down.|Cleanliness not to an adequate standard, marks on bed linen and filthy tiles in the bathroom.||We left after one night and immediately complained to Expedia about our experience. Both Expedia and the hotel have refused to refund the cost of our stay, perhaps they should be made to stay...

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Spice Kitchen at Stay Inn Express, Cambridgeshire on 29th July, and although this review is a little delayed, the experience has truly stayed with me.
From the moment we arrived, everything was spot on. The food was nothing short of incredible – genuinely one of the best curries I've had in a long time. You could taste every layer of flavour in the dish, not just a blast of heat like so many other places. It’s clear the head chef is a master of their craft, and it was a real treat to chat with both the chef and the manager during our visit.
Speaking of which, the manager is a fantastic person – warm, friendly, and clearly passionate about making sure guests have a great experience. The whole team were absolutely brilliant, so down-to-earth and welcoming – it really makes a difference when staff are genuine people who care.
The hotel itself looks lovely, and even if you’re not staying the night, the restaurant alone is well worth the visit. In fact, I’m heading back next weekend, and travelling 1.5 hours just to eat there again – yes, it really is that good.
If you’re passing through or live anywhere nearby – do yourself a favour and stop in. You will not be disappointed. Spice Kitchen is a hidden treasure and deserves all the praise it...
Read moreRight, well firstly I’ve seen nothin but negativity from these reviews, if your looking for luxury lifestyle then spend your money elsewhere for this place is welcoming fairly priced and well maintained my room was clean and tidy, I was driving by from ldn and needed to stay somewhere for the night and I found this place and I’m glad as previously I booked another place which offered more but to my concern they was horrid anyways that’s for a different review, this stay inn is right off the a428 close to a well known Greek food spot and I couldn’t have been more pleased I was grated well and shown around I say come see for yourself before you start reading and making unjustified decisions, we aren’t all perfect but for a room for the night it’s more than enough there’s total 3 beds in one room double/single and sofa bed could house a full moon party 😂 overall I’m glad I came to see for myself as I think some of you have been uncanny. Only issue I had was which bed am I...
