Bed was terribly uncomfortable, pillows too soft (even 'firm' ones). Room far too hot; no air conditioning in rooms. Given 2 large fans from reception and room still felt like a sauna! Food was nice but not much choice for those with dietary needs. Bar service slow and errors made due to staff training and being unsupervised. Reception staff very welcoming. Breakfast staff very friendly also.
Free wifi only lasts 30 mins - was not made clear on the website, booking confirmation or at check-in. I was under the impression I would get unlimited free wifi given many hotels offer this now and it was advertised as 'Wifi available' everywhere you look. Signal poor, kept dropping and connection slow. Free wifi in restaurant was basically non-existent due to poor signal. I would not class this as 'wifi available' if you cannot use it.
Parking not so good - limited disabled bays and side car park too small with bays in the middle making it difficult to get car in and out of bays. Larger car park opposite hotel on other side of road which is incredibly busy and difficult to cross. Not safe for a wheelchair user or if you have children with you due to speed of traffic passing through. Would be better to have side car park as disabled and parent/child only then general car park over the road.
Got a refund on my stay but had a very bad back the following day and a busy weekend which was affected by only having around 3 hours of broken sleep thanks to an overly hot room and uncomfortable bed. Next time I will stay at Premier Inn Central Burton and not East as I later discovered they have air conditioned rooms. Why on earth some do and others don't when part of the same chain is beyond me, especially in this...
Read moreA small by their standards Premier Inn, great front of house team, Michelle in particular so helpful over meal deal booking. If you're staying more than just bed and breakfast do check out what good value that deal is. Although on busy main road the triple glazing kept the sound out. As always the bed provided a good night's sleep. There's plenty of parking on both sides of the road. Access is good and level and I expect there are suitable rooms on the ground floor. Adjoining the hotel is a Table Table pub, The Stanhope Arms where the eat all you want breakfast is served had a new manager when I visited, really impressed that he remembered that I had a meal deal and liked three courses and a pint - out of how many visitors that weekend. The room was nice and spacious, with a good shower, and although clean, just a tad tired. The only slight niggle was the television was a bit small and the colour profile was way out. The litmus test is would I go again, emphatically YES. It is good value and comfortable with good atmosphere...
Read moreWe stay in a lot of premier Inns, and although a bit dated was excellent. Lady at the check in desk was lovely. Unfortunately didn't get her name but made it extra special by gifting my children some chocolate to take up to the room. The room itself was actually one of the nicest family rooms we've ever had at a premier inn. It was a corner room and had windows on both sides making it large and light and airy. Unsually we could also open the windows for fresh air. Even being next to the main road honesty wasn't really an issue and only woke up once when a loud motorbike went by at 3am. We had the windows open so no issues if closed. Attached pub does the the usual pub grub and wasn't overpriced as expected. Staff in the pub also pleasant. Chef knows how to cook a crap steak well if that makes sense. Would definitely say this was one of the more pleasant Premier Inns...
