We booked this hotel for its location near the Warner Bros studio and it was wonderful. Laura the receptionist on duty gave us a very warm welcome and is a real credit to the team! The room contains all of the usual amenities, kettle with tea and coffee along with a hairdryer, although we did have a problem with the extractor fan in the bathroom dripping in the morning. We reported it to the hotel as we were leaving but it was a minor inconvenience as we only stayed the night. Breakfast in the morning was across the road in the Beefeater with a selection of continental (pastries, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast) or full English (sausage, bacon, eggs in four different varieties, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash brown, black pudding and beans) which also included the continental options. This plus unlimited tea, coffee and juices was a great way to start the day! Location was also good, being just off the motorway, but we didn't hear a thing. We would definitely return to explore St Alban's.

Started off as a pain in the @rse as the website states "Driving? UseĀ AL2 3PNĀ in your sat nav". DONT! Use the post code for Moor Mill Beefeater, Smug Oak Ln, Bricket Wood, Colney Street, Radlett AL2 3TZ. We ended up driving round a housing estate then aspired to driving round an industrial estate! Extremely frustrating. The signage from the road is also confusing, as you drive past the Premier Inn sign but it doesn't say "turn left" and it's also obscured by the trees. My advice is to look for the Moor Mill Beefeater, it's a dead end road do you can't miss the Premier Inn. Once there, it's great. The couple on the front desk, young man and young lady were very attentive. They made us feel very welcome and advised on parking and the meal facilities next door. Rooms were clean, tidy and very pleasant. Now I know how to find it, I'd definitely recommend it and would return. Arrived at 1500 hrs, 06 July 2023.

We visited on Saturday 11th October 2025 for an overnight stay whilst attending a party in St. Albans. The twin room was very clean and pristine. The staff at reception were friendly and professional. Its great that there are extra supplies of coffee, tea fir hot drinks in your room. The breakfast room was not very organised and very low on pastries and breakfast items. There were tables outside and upstairs that were still uncleared or cleaned from the dinner service the night before. We had drinks in bar on Saturday evening and the heating was not o. It was very cold in bar.

recently stayed at this hotel for a work trip, and unfortunately, it was one of the most stressful and uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. Check-in & Room Issues: When I arrived, the front desk told me breakfast ā€œmay or may notā€ be available and I would have to wake up and check. The room itself was decent, but had no plug sockets near the bed — only a USB port, which is inconvenient for anyone with a newer iPhone. The fan provided was very old, barely worked, and couldn’t be moved closer because there were no accessible sockets near the bed. Restaurant Experience: This was the worst part of my stay. On my first night, I waited 15 minutes just to be greeted by anyone. I had a pre-paid meal allowance, but the staff said their system was down and I’d have to pay again and claim it back myself. The following nights were even worse — I waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged despite staff clearly hearing me call out ā€œhello.ā€ At one point, I overheard staff joking about hearing me but still ignoring me. When food finally arrived, my lasagna was cold in the middle despite the plate being scalding hot, and it was swimming in oil. Not once during my stay did anyone offer to refill my drink, even though I’d paid for a refillable option. Housekeeping: Over 6 nights, I never received fresh towels or toilet roll. Overall, this stay left me anxious and frustrated. I felt ignored, unwelcome, and as though I had to chase staff constantly just to get the most basic service. I cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers, especially women traveling alone — it did not feel like a safe or supportive environment. AVOID. Only plus was the two girls at reception when I was checking...

I stay in a lot of Premier Inns and normally its my go to choice. I'm slowly being put off by the chain and moving forward I'm going to try and not use them.

Why?? Lots of them are getting old, Drab and worn. Staff seem to hate there jobs there and why some are good at putting on a smile, talk to them long enough and you can hear working for the chain sounds the best...

every hotel I'm staying at has issues. Cleanliness, facility's, ambient temperature of the rooms.

This Hotel is right next to the M1. Great location and why I chose.

First impressions of this hotel:

The road to turn into the Hotel is basically a dirt track. Big ruts and potholes, One car a time and no passing places.

The carpark is small and unless your directed by anyone its easy to miss that its a MANANGED car park. Stick Reg in tablet and sorted for the night.

The room was a little worn dead flys and insects stuck on the window sill and netting.

HDMI Port is was damaged and not usable. Just means i have to fondle behind the TV and is a little annoying as its covered in dust.

Bathroom tap sprays all over when used.

Seals that have been replaced are to a poor job and some are worn around the bath. Again around the bath could of been alot cleaner.

The Breakfast!

Getting into the restaurant was confusing. No signs to which way to go and very dim and worn. No sign at the top of the stairs of where to wait and no one to great me at first.

Its one of them tell the server what you want venues. Scrambled egg was dry, Bacon under cooked and like it was taken out of water to keep 'Fresh'. Beans were under cooked.

Would i stay here...

Booked breakfast in the morning, long story short was in a rush and ended up waiting 50 minutes from moment of paying to when we received the breakfast, due to their flawed system/miscommunication between Premier Inn and Beefeater.

Was offered a refund but due to taking so long to process and us being in a rush, we had to say forget the refund!! Thoroughly disappointed – continental breakfast was poor, no pastries left at all. I asked if they could please bring out some more pastries, the frontman at the Beefeater said he'd already done over 100 that morning and wasn't doing more as breakfast was ending in 10 minutes! We had been messed around for 40 minutes because they couldn’t see that we had paid for the breakfast (when we had paid at the hotel), so missed out on the pastries due to their error, also it's supposed to be unlimited and it says on the website breakfast is until 11am (it was 10.30am at this point). He didn't respond to this, another customer commented on how bad the customer service was.

When we finally received the breakfast, we ate it very quickly and wasn't able to have as much as we would've liked as we had to leave.

Such a shame as the rest of the stay was lovely - beautiful location, great size room and very...
