The drive up to the property was a little precocious, especially in the dark. As a passenger in the car I'm sure we would have felt more comfortable with lighting along the narrow road. The owners had tea coffee etc for us to use. The property was an upside down cottage. The views from the balcony were exquisite. The beds were very comfortable. The towels provided were extremely soft. I would like to return here for a summer vacation to see a sunset from the balcony would be amazing.

For peace & quite perfection. You can hear the birds singing and see the stars at night. There is no light pollution and on a good clear night you can see the milky way

Middle of the forest near High Bickington, isolated, peaceful, near many local sights, cannot recommend it more highly.

Hmmm... This is a difficult one. The lodges themselves look lovely and I'm sure would make a great holiday destination for those looking for seclusion. BUT... It all looks a bit unfinished and the access road is INCREDIBLY steep and full of potholes, with near enough a shear drop to greet you if you try to avoid said potholes. A 4x4 would eat this road for breakfast I'm sure but a smaller car definitely does not fair so well. Just check your clutch is good before you go as you'll be doing it in 1st gear whilst slamming over the potholes. The lodges look well decorated with lovely hillside views. It just needs finishing off, especially the access. Some better signage would do well also as if you pass the entrance fork in the road, you end up in a farm and turning around may seem like a good idea but you would need to go all the way to the bottom to turn around and come back up. I did turn into the drive from above by doing a ridiculous 7-point turn but the shear drop in front of you might scare your family too much as you inevitably stall due to the steep angles involved. Watch out also for other vehicles coming up and down as the road is only just wide enough for 1 car. We did manage to avoid a delivery van who seemed to be barrelling up the hill presumably to maintain momentum, but this was only because I had just pulled off at the fork after my...

Nice and quiet we stayed in the smaller older home but everything was good with it, parking is a little tight to get in and out . tiny balcony and apart from that there is no other outside space if your car is there. our house was well equipped with everything needed. the Site did have a small pool but not allowed to use it apparently you have to be a member? The larger newer houses on the site were very modern with large balconys but are quite close together and some overlooked each other which is odd in all a vet pleasant place to stay for a few days and the people who live on the side were all very...
