Not sure if it is a hotel as in a place to sleep but it is a really friendly pub and restaurant. It was a 5 minute drive from from our holiday cottage and it was well worth it. My husband and my parents all had fish and chips while I had jacket potato with chilli and cheese. All very good food. The pool table and darts were free to play. The proprietor was very friendly. There was a shooting party at the pub and despite there being around 15 to 20 of them they did not disturb the peaceful environment. If I had been aware that the pub was so close I probably would have eaten there for the whole of my trip, but we only found it on our last night there. Bed had a mattress protector on but had no bottom sheet. ||A little disappointed we couldn’t make a cuppa as no sugar or coffee. Stayed for lunch which was nice and hot and lots of vegetable and meat was nice. But gravy was packet and the stuffing was a hard ball. Landlord was a mixture of very nice on arrival but was grumpy end of night with a couple of locals who were talking to us and it was a little uncomfortable although he did apologise in the morning. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection every night. The pub has a very cozy and inviting atmosphere, the log burner was lovely considering how cold the temperature was outside. The kids enjoyed playing pool and couldn't wait to go back each night. This pub is a hidden gem and an asset to the village.
