We stayed in Snuggledown yurt, over the Easter week-end 2016. With two young children aged 4 and 2 we couldn't have chosen a better Easter break. The yurt was cosy and warm despite the traditional British bank holiday weather and our hosts Farmer Phil and Mel and their two children were wonderfully accommodating and welcoming, making all four of us feel immediately at home, plus went out of their way to make the whole weekend a very memorable experience especially for the kids with an Easter egg hunt, Farm Tour, Dinosaur experience all thrown in. To top it off Phil managed to time the hatching of a clutch of new born chicks to coincide perfectly with Easter Sunday! All making for a very special experience. Other touches that we really appreciated were delicious fresh scones and clotted cream on arrival and "Little Farmer" certificates and 2 of the best little yellow ducks we have ever seen for the children. Puddleduck Valley was definitely a hit, and we would love to...
Read moreWe stayed at Puddleduck Valley for a week in May in Buttermilk cottage.
Beautiful cottage, new, clean with all the amenities and fantastic views out the double doors that can be opened which is lovely for nice warm evenings. It's peaceful and feels secluded without being isolated from the rest of the farm.
The farm has goats (our favourite), chickens, rabbits, a guinea pig, chicks, cats and lots of different birds to spot.
Feeding the animals and collecting eggs was every enjoyable for our 7 year old daughter along with stroking the goats, cuddling the bunnies, guinea pig and chicks.
The location is good for exploring Devon and North Cornwall approx 35 mins drive to the Bude beaches.
Lastly farmer Phil and Melanie were wonderful hosts, very kind, friendly and willing to help.
I would definitely recommend this farm to friends and family and not just for Buttermilk cottage but also for the other cottages and Mongolian yurts which...
Read moreWe visited Puddleduck Valley with our 2 year old son in September, and we all loved every minute. Both Farmer Melanie and Farmer Phil were brilliant with our little one and really made us all feel welcome. We stayed in the Appleloft which was very clean, modern and had everything we needed (plus the added bonus of being able to collect your own eggs!), the fresh scones on arrival were also well received by us all!
We chose this place as we wanted to get away for a few days, but more importantly our little boy loves animals. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone with children of all ages, but if you are concerned just give them a ring (any questions that I had before I booked were answered quickly and gave us the peace of mind that we needed.)
Melanie and Phil have lots of ideas for the place and we look forward to visiting them again...
