Very disappointed! I booked a two night stay in June several months in advance for a concert at Nocturne Live. The room was a suite as we wanted a little extra space, it looked exactly as the photos on the website. The air conditioning didn't work and the shower was broken. The staff did bring a fan for the second night of our stay and we were given temporary access to other rooms each morning so we could shower. (we weren't offered another room) We even had a plumber in our room for several hours to try to repair while I was trying to get ready for an evening event. It was really hot and almost impossible to sleep. The room was on the first floor and on a busy, noisy road so it wasn't an option to keep the windows open at night. I respectfully requested half of my money back for the dreadful inconvenience and disappointing stay. However the hotel has yet to acknowledge me or offer resolution. A decent, well run place would have offered compensation without asking. The Churchill Court manager won't even respond to me. I did try to resolve this without posting a negative review but the hotel gave me no other choice but to warn others since they refused to resolve with...

We generally try to support independent businesses and are usually quite forgiving, as we know how tough the hospitality industry can be. I booked directly via the hotel’s website at £159 per night, and we stayed in Room 2, a family suite.||While the room may once have been lovely, it’s now very clear that it suffers from a serious lack of maintenance. During our stay we raised several concerns with staff, including:|- A broken bed base, which meant my wife had an uncomfortable night’s sleep|- A shower that fluctuated between cold and scalding hot, with a tray that felt unsafe and unstable|- A bathroom hairdryer with a perished, broken electrical wire, raising obvious safety concerns|- Loud banging noises (sounding like pipes) that woke us all up between 7:45–8:00am|- At breakfast, a hair on the hash brown and milk that had gone off for the cereal||We were told these issues would be passed to the manager and that we’d hear back before being charged. The room was small but comfortable and warm enough, and the shower was great except for the huge cobweb hanging from the corner which had obviously been there for a while. The most disappointing thing was breakfast. I asked for beans on toast and had two thin (cheap) slices of brown toast with about 3 tablespoons of baked beans - what a rip-off!! My colleague had the same and a third colleague's breakfast arrived after we had finished ours. No breakfast on Sunday as we had to leave before service started and no alternative was offered so, an expensive and disappointing stay overall. The young lady serving was friendly and chatty but I felt there could have been more customer service and training as, for the prices charged I would have expected the final touches to be much more 'polished'.
