The last few years have been a bit of a roller coaster medically for my husband and I. So we were due a little getaway.
When booking The Veranda on Main, we truly did not expect what would lie behind those charming, great big doors..
The VOM Family was just that… Family. They welcomed us in with open arms in a way that reminded us of the reception that we receive when we go home to visit loved ones for the holidays..
Upon entering the home, you are greeted with endless history and charm. It truly takes your breathe away. Gone With The Wind Anyone? :-)
We stayed in the Brown & Blue Room. It was thoughtfully decorated and our 3 year old son just loved his Twin bed and the “wow bath room”, as he called it!
Each and every piece of art in our room was thoughtfully placed and took us back to a time where pride was taken in which drapes would be hung that would match with the sheets and the down, and likewise with the wall paint and shower decor. Absolutely stunning and well done.
The Veranda was just lovely in the early mornings and evenings. You truly get a feel for the Old World Charm of this quaint town. There was a light breeze that would almost guarantee a short nap on the beautiful rocking chairs! :-)
Breakfast each morning was a showstopper! The VOM Family took great care in preparing meals that were flavorful, healthy and most of all, comforting.
The star of The Veranda on Main was no other than Ziggy The Loyal Companion/Doggy! Ziggy is so well mannered and sweet! And “wuffy” (fluffy) as our son said. Just the sweetest little baby that Ziggy!
We made friends & family that we won’t soon forget….
We’ll be seeing you all soon and may God continue to...

There is cafe seating on the balcony. Big king bed and beautifully appointed rooms are new with high ceilings but look antique. Just wish they had all-Cotton sheets. Divine memorable sit down morning breakfast included pecans from their backyard in a baked French toast dish, egg strata with sausage and fresh melon. Accommodated decaf coffee. Our hosts Tom and sounds joined us at the table and shared town history and recommendations for| dinner. Downtown a short drive is a worthy destination with antique and specialty shops and...
Read moreMy recent stay at the Veranda on Main was absolutely fantastic! I loved the, antebellum charm of the home and the warm welcome from the owner Karla. Our room,Sunset Breeze , was beautifully decorated and easy access to the Veranda.Spotlessly clean, along with a super comfortable bed. The highlight was the delicious, homemade Continental baked goodies and well stocked fridge of drinks, fresh fruit, nuts and especially the variety of coffee and tea options. Beyond the comfortable rooms and great food, the serene atmosphere and the beautiful grounds with comfortable rocking chairs made for a truly relaxing escape. I would definitely recommend The Veranda on Main to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable...
