From a tired biker: The usual cheerful greeting at front desk during check in was replaced with an all business, lets get this over with attitude. Which actually was fine with me because I was feeling pretty worn out from the days ride. After the sign in was completed the clerk pointed vaguely towards the west end of the building and told me to enter through door #7, and that I was in room 185. When I ask for clarification the clerk again pointed to the west end of the building and said go all the way around to the back until I reach door #7. Now most larger BW facilities similar to this one have a map of the property that is quite useful in giving directions to their guests. Ramkota deems this unnecessary. A quick flick of the wrist in the general direction and off you go, nothing else needed. You most certainly must be able to be able to recognize the number 7 on a door. It turned out to be no great trial finding the door and I was ready to be a little more understanding. When I stepped into the hallway I was greeted with a sign and an arrow pointing to my right that indicated rooms numbered from the high 170's and down, and nothing indicated to the left. Okay, left then. After a short walk down the hall in that direction showed no rooms with numbers on the doors I started to question my choice, and my mood began to darken again. Fortunately someone from maintenance happened by and was able to politely do the front desks job and direct me to my room. Once inside the room I was able to square my things away and take a nice cool shower to wash off the days road grime. After which would come a quick nap to perk my miserable self up. The "quick" in nap was so much briefer than I had envisioned. I had no sooner nodded off than some very loud voices outside of my room woke me, and these voices were not coming from the hallway. They were coming from outside what I had originally thought were the rooms windows. When I opened the drapes it was actually a sliding glass door that itself opened onto some kind of courtyard, meeting room, banquet facility filled with people who had no idea or concern that there was a grumpy old biker trying to sleep just a few feet from their shindig nor should they have been concerned. The people (person) who should have been concerned had made a feeble attempt to direct me to this wonderful echo chamber and most likely wasn't aware I had playmates just outside my quarters. Shame on any front desk that is not aware of the events going on inside there own premises. I dressed and decided an early dinner (hopefully to give some leeway to people in the meeting/party and give them time to disperse) and a visit to the offending desk were in order. I pointed out to my friend at the desk, rather vociferously, that I thought my room selection was not well thought through, and that anyone in there right mind would have assigned that room to someone who was attending the meeting/soiree in the adjoining facilities. The offer to change rooms was pointless in that the damage was already done and I really didn't want the extra aggravation of having to repack and move. With my venting done I tucked into what I hoped to be a nice long dinner (it was). Upon returning to my room I was greeted by nothing more than the usual sounds heard in a hotel and was able to read myself to sleep. UNTIL 1:30 a.m. ...not... my normal wake up call! Someone in this fine establishment decided that was an appropriate time to breakdown all the tables and chairs from the days meetings/slam dance that had gone on in the hall of echoes. This time I took matters into my own hands. I threw open the drapes and door ....and I don't know if it was my voice, the choice of words, or the fact that these 5 young men were confronted with a very angry, extremely fat old man in his sleepwear, but they left without another peep, and I slept the rest of the night...
Read moreI stayed at this location a week ago. At first I thought everything was going to be great, the front desk worker was very nice. Also, loved that they were taking many covid precautions - making sure the pens were clean for signing, wiping down the desk, and cleaning off my room cards before giving them to be. I went to my room and it wasn’t what I had booked online. I went back and they did switch my room to a room that was more closely related to the room I had booked online. Unfortunately, once I got to the room everything went down hill. The room smelled really bad when we got in there...I thought it would go away with time. We left to do some stuff came back and the room still smelled really bad I started looking around to see if I could find something that was causing it. I opened the fridge and sure enough there it was - rotten moldy food ...it smelt horrible. Threw that away in a trash down the hall to ensure the room wouldn’t keep smelling. As the night went on the smell didn’t get much better as we were getting ready for bed I opened the pull out couch and no sheets and no bedding was anywhere in the room. As I was looking through all the dresser drawers to make sure I wasn’t missing it somewhere I found a bunch of clothes from the previous person who stayed in the room. Now, if covid19 wasn’t still a big concern I probably wouldn’t be so bothered, but I really started to question if the room was even cleaned then. Then I started looking more in-depth the bathroom had hair all over the floor and bath tub was very dirty. I was very disappointed with how the situation was handled as well. I spoke with a worker Friday when (first night of our stay when we need to go get bedding b for the pull out bed) she said there was anything she could do...and also couldn’t ensure our room was even cleaned because I was really questioning that now. I called who we booked though because we used a third party to book and they have had a hard time getting ahold of the manger at the hotel as well. I just want to ensure that the issues are addressed for the next person who plans to stay here. Since I haven’t been able to speak to any manger about what my stay was like I thought the best way to get it out there was here. I hope whoever stays here next they have ensured the rooms are completely emptied out and...
Read moreI checked in to this hotel at 6:30pm, and checked out by 9pm. First freaky incident, I get to my assigned room, and the door is wide open and all of the lights are on. I call the front desk to ask why this would be, and they said, as long as the room is clean, it should be fine, housekeeping probably forgot to shut the door. Weird. Fast forward ten minutes later and the lights in my room keep flickering - every light fixture has this issue. Soon, the entire power goes out, comes on, goes on, and continues on like this for about ten minutes until I call the front desk. I can see the lights in the hallway are not going out, nor the lights in the pool. I ask the front desk if any other rooms are having problems with power outages, the lady says No, and that she is going to send her maintenance man up. The maintenance guy was very polite, but while he was inspecting my room, the power went out again, so he said this was just my room, maybe an issue with my breaker, and he was going to ask the front desk if I could switch rooms. A few minutes later, the maintenance man reappears, letting me know he is moving me to a remodeled room, and has no idea why my room was experiencing these outages - definitely an isolated incident, he says. Fast forward ten minutes of being in the new room, power goes out twice more. I call the front desk, but the line is a fast busy signal. Again, hallway lights and pool lights remain on, so at this point, I've had it, I leave, I call when I get to a new hotel down the block, and Melanie informs me I'll be charged the full amount as they were having outages due to the "storm" - really, then why was I moved rooms and told this was an isolated incident? Big time fail - not to mention the hotel is a throwback to the 80's and feels like more like a motel than a hotel. Oh, and the pillowcases had weird stains on them. Definitely not worth anything close to the $116 plus tax I had to pay for my three hours of moving rooms and...
