Let me start by saying that my family has trusted Aberdeen Chrysler for years and have been very happy with what we have purchased my family had bought probably 6 pickups from you guys over the years and we have been very happy. I was in the market for a used pickup that was in good shape because my other pickup that I’ve had a long time was starting to be unreliable. So I went to the place my family has trusted for years because you see many private buyers and some little dealerships try and hide things so I figured go here it’ll be looked over and fair price. After a couple weeks of looking a ram 1500 sport came up and it looked really nice the price was a little higher than what I was seeing other places but I was willing to pay a little more for good quality and good service. Let me tell you this was not the case. It all started the week of buying I called and was trying to get a hold of some of the sales people I had talked to two different ones who said they would send pictures because they hadn’t had many online yet. Perfect I did not receive any but it looked good for the ones they did have. So may 30th I bought this pickup for $23,500 which was a little high considering it had 105,000 miles but I trusted these guys and was willing to pay it. I was highly disappointed in the sales team on the used side we were coming from three hours away in North Dakota and I called before I left and they said they had plenty of time to get it ready and it’ll be all set to go because I had to go 7 hours with it after I picked it up. We got there nothing was ready they were fixing a brake line and we sat there for an hour before hearing anything on it. I finally took it for a test drive and it drove pretty good no lights nothing. Payed for it was told on the phone we would have a three month warranty on it found out that was not the case and after two more hours of waiting for things we got all the paper work done. I was disappointed in all the staff sitting on there phones while people were waiting for help that’s terrible. So got on the road and made it about two hours and it’s over heating so I pulled over got some more antifreeze because it was low and made it another two hours before having to add more got back home and called them two days after buying it they said they would come get it for free but I would have to pay for whatever was going on. So I got it fixed in my town because I wasn’t going to waste more time hauling it down there ok got that fixed it was a new thermostat and needed a coolant flush ok not too expensive but shouldn’t be doing it a week after owning it. Jump forward to July had been running good then my abs light came on I couldn’t find anything with it and mind you I do a lot of my own mechanic work but this I had no clue they looked it over and found the brake line they fixed or replaced the day I bought it was leaking and losing pressure perfect got that fixed again and pay another bill. So now it’s august and three lights came on all the sudden one day. Got it in because I could only tell I needed a new brake pad. Found out I needed all new brake pads and two bearing were out in the front and they needed traction control sensors that bill was the last straw. I payed enough money that there should be no problems with this pickup i over payed at the dealership and have put another $5000 in three months in parts that they should have seen. If you’re buying new don’t let there service team touch it because they don’t know what they’re looking at and if it’s used don’t even think about it you’ll buy something that should be in sound condition and end up paying too much and paying mechanic bills on top of it highly disappointed in this place and will never look to them for another pickup or...
Read moreBuyer Beware.... Recently purchased a vehicle from them and drove 5-6 hours to pick it up. From the get go I can tell the vehicle needed maintenance which I already understood would be the case with any older used vehicle. Visually I could see it needed new tires, brakes, rotors, new sun visor, possible radio, and was told O2 sensor needed replacing because the sales person was able to find that out. They did work with me to knock $1K off the asking price as these things needed fixing.
I was also told by the sales person when I questioned him on if the dealership fixes anything with used cars and he said only if something is glaring. Well, I would say the myriad of lights on the dashboard is "glaring". I could tell the vehicle was NOT inspected at all just in talking to the sales person which was disappointing. The vehicle needed a new exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, ABS module, brake actuator assembly, struts and shocks, front right tire rod in addition to everything I listed out previously. I ended up having to spend over $6k to get everything fixed and maintenance up to speed.
I know I signed a "Sold As Is" document but I do think they should have at the least practiced more due diligence with inspecting the vehicle, checking the codes and fixing those big ticket items before selling especially when the salesperson says they look at and fix glaring needs on used vehicles. That would have been good customer service. Very disappointed to say the least. Not very honest of them.
I figured with all the good reviews they have on Google, this would have been the case. I took the risk with "Sold As Is" and it bit me hard unfortunately.
Update to owner response: The vehicle was not clean when I purchased it, as it was dirty inside and out.
I would suggest in addition to the many "As Is" documents to sign that at least have used vehicles inspected by your service department so that you can inform prospective buyers on what fixes/maintenance is needed. Sales prices should reflect the amount of work that would need to be put into it to fix any existing issues. There needs to be more honesty!
Normally I get a 3rd party mechanic to inspect but it being a Saturday, no mechanic was open to inspect, hence me taking the risk. I accept the risk I took buying the vehicle but just pointing our that the dealer could practice a little more due diligence up front which would be good business practice and customer service. More due diligence and honesty would be appreciated.
Also just found out that there is structural damage to the frame too. Very disappointed in...
Read moreAs what started out as a very exciting experience in buying a “New” to us 2021 Toyota 4 Runner we were saddened by our ending relationship with Aberdeen Chrysler Center Dealership. We began looking for our dream car in nearby states and found what we believed The One! So we communicated with the dealership employees and were sent exterior and interior photos & videos. I thought this was a great service as we were a couple states away. At no time we were told or shown that this vehicle had rust on the undercarriage. My husband spoke with Tony the manager asking for some sort of compensation for the rust. He then stated he needed he needed to talk to the General Manager for this type of request. Well to no surprise our request was declined by the management. We are now stuck with the unnecessary expense of having to get the undercarriage scraped and undercoated to prevent the current rust from progressing any further. We had an employee of the body shop call us and tell us that it is not uncommon for them to get rust on their vehicles and that he also”has to undercoat his vehicle yearly”. He further that when they do the oil changes, they are used to seeing the rust so they didn’t think anything about it”. Tony texted my husband the next day and indicated that “ it’s not uncommon for vehicles from the Northern climate to have issues like this and he is unable to help with our issue. Since we are from out of state we were unaware of this probability and we feel the Dealership was not forthcoming about the rust. They stated they sent over all the information, pictures, and video requested before delivery” I had asked Justin to send me a video in the beginning and he sent me a picture of the tire. However another video was sent by someone other than Justin. Furthermore, we had to set up the delivery ourselves after we were told they cannot deliver the vehicle, as promised by them and they “ would “drive it” to us which I found out by calling them. Had I known sooner, I could have then set up transportation at that point and had it delivered sooner. I guess a Buyer Beware if you are from out of...
