Brown's Motel — Hotel in Aberdeen

I'm going to lead off with I've stayed at worse. The room was clean, looked like they've recently remodeled them. No bugs, no mold.

The down sides of this place. The free wifi is just a suggestion. It doesn't actually work. If you're able to connect to the wifi it's glorified dial up at best. There was zero chance of streaming with it or uploading the photos I wanted to upload. Just not happening. It took 12 or 15 tries just to connect to the wifi, but using it was just not going to happen.

Stepped outside to buy a cold drink from there machine since all the gas station in town close up at 10:30 just to find out the drink machine was like the wifi. Just for looks, machine was totally empty, every selection. Zero amenities to this place. Not even a snack machine available.

The free breakfast was laughable as well.

It wasn't all bad though, again I've stayed at worse places. The staff was really nice and seemed really sorry about the wifi and pop machine. I believe the would rather it work and be full but they aren't the owners so they are at the mercy of those in charge. But they were super nice and willing to help anyway they could.

I would rank this place as 2...

We stayed here for a single night Aug 06, 2022. When I checked in and said I was going to be paying by Credit Card I was told there would be an extra charge. When I asked why the clerk said most people were paying by Credit Card which had a fee so the owner was loosing money. He then said the prices were based on paying a 3% discount. If a room is say $100 and you take off 3% for paying cash that makes it $97. 00. If there is a 3% credit card fee on the $100 that is $3.00 so unless my math is wrong, it is a wash. You still have a net of $97.00.

The first room we were in the A/C stopped working so we were moved to a new room which was a bit of a pain. The WiFi connection was very bad, we kept getting disconnected.

There was very few electrical outlets which made it difficult to use my laptop and charge our devices.

There wasn't anywhere to hang our jackets.

There was only a shower, no bath tub. The toilet was very close to the sink.

The people in the room next to us were very noisy.

Next time if staying in the area I would be willing to pay a little more and stay...

This was almost a good find. Started out great, but it was short lived once we got in our room. The entire time, it sounded like there was a hard of elephants trampling around above us. Turns out there were 4 kids in a separate room from their "adult supervision".. per the clerk at the front desk. Initially we weren't offered to change rooms, just a phone call to the family asking them to quiet down at 11pm. We checked in at around 7:30pm. It didn't bother us until we tried to go to bed for the night...9:30‐10:00pm. We had to be up at 5:30-6am; we're truck drivers. Finally about midnight, we were offered a new room because my husband called back to the front desk. That room was much better, but come the morning.. you still heard every little movement from above. Not complaining about that person!!! Just be aware that it is NOT sound proof in this place!! The bed were very hard. The sheets in our first room were old & scratchy. The sheets in our second room were good but very thin.. which made for a chilly sleep. Disappointed. Won't...
