I really thought this motel is going to be like those motels that has a weird incense smell in the lobby and rooms but it was completely opposite. It smelled really good and the owner actually talked to us and was very friendly. He welcomed us as if we were in a friends or relatives house. Rooms were spacious, clean, brand new furniture. Restrooms were little old but were kept really clean. The best thing I liked was shower water pressure, we don't find that kind of pressure in the cities any more. I will definitely stay here again if I'll travel this direction in future!

I really wanted to like this place. The manager was very nice. I picked it because it had decent reviews. I'm not sure why hotels in Abilene are so expensive! But my normal chain got horrible reviews, so we booked here instead. The bathroom was not very clean, kind of grungy. Tub, toilet bowl, floor could all use a scrub. Towels were very worn. My bed kept trying to toss me out of it! I'm not sure what was wrong with the bed on the frame, but getting anywhere toward the edge cause the entire mattress to tilt. Sheets were stained. Disappointing.

The man at the front desk was very kind and helpful, which is why my rating isn’t one. However, upon arriving it immediately smelled like dog urine, the (new?) towels had hair on them, and the bathroom sink wasn’t attached properly therefor it’s unstable. Apparently the rooms in the same building as the front desk had been renovated, but clearly the same doesn’t apply for the separate row of rooms over.

I don't know how this place is rated a 2.5 star rated hotel or how it gets such consistently high guest reviews. I was so disappointed. Yes, the place is cheap, but it is so worth it to pay more to go somewhere else. Pros: Good Wi-Fi, it was clean, friendly staff. Cons: It's so old - Many other reviews say it is "dated". That is an understatement. This place is crazy old and while it was clean, there is only so much you can do to make a very old place feel clean It just felt dingy. There was no air conditioning and worse, you can't control the thermostat from your room We had zero control over the temperature! All we could do was open the door to get some air. The heat was on ALL night. We were melting in there! Another con was the smell. It just had an odd odor. Again, probably due to the age. Finally, the walls and doors were paper thin. Yes, I realize you can hear neighbors in many hotels, but this place had an incredible lack of privacy. Several times I heard someone say something and asked my husband to repeat himself only to find out he hadn't said anything and it was the person next door. It sounded like they were in our room. It was just an overall awful place. I will say that I feel like the owners try and that's why you get friendly service and can tell it is clean, however, no amount of cleaning and service can make up for the sheer amount of updating this place needs. I recommend paying more and going...

Traveling cross-country I've often chosen to stay in budget-friendly motels. I'm used to just the basics with no frills. It supports local business and each one has its own unique "feel." That said, I tolerate much and consider it a trade-off...saving money but having to tolerate sometimes lower quality.||There aren't many choices in Abilene. I doubt I'll ever stay in Abilene again but if I did I would try one of the other couple of options. Generally I just felt like this was overpriced for what we got. My $70 room with taxes etc was $90 each night.||The Good: The motel is located in a quiet residential area. The owner was very pleasant. The bed was comfortable. The water was hot and had good pressure. The TV worked fine. There was a small fridge and coffee maker but I didn't use them.||The Bad/Ugly: I genuinely don't believe my room had been cleaned in awhile. I slept on top of the bedspread because the bed did not look clean. The toilet seat was broken. My bath towel had large holes in it. The bathtub was filthy with heavy grime. The ceiling fan was broken.||I can overlook alot of things but filth is not one of them. I would stay there again if it were cleaner. There was a Help Wanted sign posted out front. Hopefully they will...

Disclaimer I’ve made many times: I rate on experience and how a place makes me feel. Is this place perfect? No. It’s an older spot that you can tell the owners have tried to update as best they can. It’s not fancy and you can’t control the temp in the room because there is a central thermostat somewhere. That being said, my room was comfortable. Not too hot or too cold. And j like that there is a ceiling fan for air movement.||The bathroom isn’t the cleanest I’ve ever seen in my life, but it’s good enough. The drain is slow, but the water pressure is good and the water is hot.||The bed is basic. A little stiff more me, but fine enough.||A 30-something inch flat screen, microwave, and fridge. Small coffee maker.||68 dollars a night!||The owner was nice as could be. My interaction with him was super pleasant.||I’m pretty sure this is the only place to stay in Abilene. I’m passing through to check out the Eisenhower museum.||I’m glad I stopped at this...
