The Allatoona Landing campground was very nice. Clean, well maintained and amenities were good. Only a few things kept me from giving more stars: 1. We had campsite # 7 which turned out was near the entrance. Lots of traffic on that main road. If we stay again, we'll select a site further from the front entrance. 2. The campground (especially where our site was) is parallel to train tracks. The train ran all hours, every day we were there. If you don't mind listening to train sounds/horns at 3 a.m., then you'll be fine! Otherwise, maybe select a site further away from the tracks side. We didn't realize the tracks were there or we would have selected a different site. 3. The sites were very small. We have just a 29ft travel trailer and an F350 truck. There wasn't enough room for our small camper and our truck, so we parked it in the grassy area next to our site. It would've been nice if the paved spaces were a little longer. Plus we were very close to our neighbors. Now I will say we've been at campsites that were waayyyy more crammed, but it still would've been good to have a little more space. We did enjoy the beautiful area, the park mostly clear of debris and nice facilities. The "market" in the office didn't have very much and was overpriced, but you're paying for convenience. Staff was friendly and efficient. Would stay again, just will choose a different site.

We spent the week at this campground. It was a beautiful park with amazing sites. When they say they have trains they mean it! Freight trains regularly pass by and blow the horns. My son was in love with this fact and after a day the adults barely noticed them. The playgrounds were great and all our children had fun playing on them. We had a couple ducks that made their home with us while we were there. Also had several kittens visit on occasion. The park itself is pet friendly and there were a lot of dogs, including our own. Staff was generally helpful although we did witness an argument between the security personnel and a cleaning person. The main issues we had were that the wifi and the cable was out the whole time but no one told us that on check in. So I spent awhile trying different things before our neighbor told me it doesn't work. We also lost water for several hours and when I asked the manager about an ETA on completion he didn't seem to care and just said sometime today probably. The REC room does need help. It was pretty bare. All in all it was pretty good experience.

We were visiting family in Atlanta and we decided to stay here for a week. The campground is in the trees and very pretty. They have nice laundry and shower facilities also. We asked for 50 amp service and full hookups but only got power, water, and cable. Only about 20 sites have sewer. They will pump your tanks for $25 per tank, loan you a blue boy or you have to use their dump station. They provide free wifi but it really does not reach much beyond the front office so really no wifi. One big thing is that trains run right alongside the campground 24/7. The trains honk their horns coming by and the trains are long. They run through in the middle of the night so if you have trouble sleeping or a light sleeper you might want another park. The park has access to the lake so fishing, and boating are doable. Most of the camp sites have fire rings so you can a fire if you like. The store sells firewood in case you did not bring any. For us the lack of sewer hookups, wifi, and the trains means we would not stay here again. YMMV

This review is for those interested in renting the “cabins”, not the folks taking their RV. If you like doors without locks, children’s bedrooms with no blinds or window treatments so anyone can look in, the stench of cigarettes, and unavailable management after 5pm, this place is for you! We planned on staying in cabin 5, or 5c, close to the main gate. When we first stepped inside the repugnant smell of cigarettes soaked into the fabric recliner for what had to of been years of ash based marination, curled our nose hairs. If you’re not a smoker, you know what I’m talking about. I unloaded our luggage and checked all the doors as most people would do. The sliding glass door has no lock! In place of a lock, at a place called “resort”, was a half broken broom handle in the tracks of the sliding door that did not cover the distance of the track! The door could still open enough to get your hands inside. The children’s bedroom was missing one of the three blinds leaving the window open to anyone passing by - did I say this was the children’s bedroom?! I reported the security issues immediately. However, management, according to the retired navy security officer, is unavailable after 5pm. He came by and asked what he could. I told him either put a lock on the door and something, anything, to cover the window, or move us to another cabin. He said there were no other cabins available (MI true, cabin 3 was open the whole weekend) but would look for a bigger stick. I said if you would have advertised no locks on doors and no blinds on they bedroom, I wouldn’t have made a reservation. He refused to put a lock on the door saying he was just security. I said this is about security! Their contract states no firearms allowed so it’s not like you can bring your own protection. Without anyone caring about fixing the problem, we packed up and rented a room at the Hampton Inn a few exits away. My in laws stayed at this “resort” as they took their RV and had no issues with the RV set up. We stayed with them during the day, cooked to some s’mores at night then drive back to our expensive hotel room which really takes you out of the allure of the family camping trip by the lake. So, my recommendation is to demolish these 25 year old (per security), dilapidated ruins called cabins and convert them to RV Spots as it seems you can handle the issues pertaining to RVs, just not basic necessities like locks. We did rent a pontoon boat at the marina and that was a great experience... fair price, nice boats. I would also change the name you Allatoona Landing and Cabins “off last resort” because there is absolutely NOTHING about the cannons that were remotely close to any resort, not even in a third world country. Yes, they refunded my money but people should know what they are renting and the best source of information - other consumer reviews! Pictures: Notice how the broom stick doesn’t come close to touching the door. I tried to open the door with the stick down and, with a few swift pulls the door would open. The latch in the door has nothing on the frame to attach to. The latch on the frame pictures lines up with the outside track while the slider was on the inside track. The front door has a keypad not a key and based upon everything else I saw at this place I confident they aren’t changing the lock combinations...

I have stayed on and off at Alatoona Landing for about the last 12 months. From the front office staff/management to maintenance to the ‘higher ups’ everyone is kind and caring and go above and beyond in service to their guests. Most of the sites are somewhat staggered, so you’re not staring in the windows of your neighbor when out under your awning. Each site has a fire pit and concrete picnic table. The fire pit had a grated, movable “lid” so you can cook over the fire if that’s your thing. The grounds are very well maintained, the pool water is clear without a strong chlorine smell, and the bathrooms/showers are emaculate and remind me of a health club or spa; nice tile and granite countertops. The water pressure and temperature control are a step above any RV park I’ve ever stayed at. I did not use the laundry facility. There’s a huge beach that is never crowded; dog and small boat friendly. I would like to see a fenced in dog park, but there’s plenty of nice walking space around the park and most guests are good about keeping their dogs on leashes and picking up after their pooch. There is a busy train track that runs along one end of the park and 2-3 nearby crossings where the conductor has to blow the train whistle. It’s pretty loud at the pool, but not unbearable. My favorite sites back up to a fence on that side of the park & I was pleasantly surprised to be able to sleep through the late night passes. I’ve stayed at other parks around the lake, and the train noise can be heard from just about everywhere. I think it’s silly for people to deduct “stars” over something that the RV park has not control over. I highly recommend this park and will definitely...

Would not recommend if you want to stay for extended time or use your boat or your golf cart. It's worst than an HOA. Many rules that are confusing. We had to park our boat and trailer over a half mile away and was told we could not use our golf cart to haul our things to our motor home. My husband and myself are in our 60's and the temperature out side was 93 degrees. The young girl that told us that we could not have a golf cart was on one just like ours. Not to mention all the electric bicycles going all over the place with kids on them going through gates that they were not supposed to behind cars. They were so unfriendly and disrespectful. They did not give 2 cents and when we got packed back up after requesting a refund of $960.00 dollars for 25 days with not even full hookups she ok and took off to the office. When I got there she said can I help you and said yes I came to get my money back and she ok I just refunded. We then had to go through another gate on the other side of park to get our boat and trailer, you have to get them to open the gate. We sat there for 5 minutes blew the horn and they would not open it. My husband tried calling twice and they would not answer. I then decide to take my golf cart drive around the fence and drive over the sensor to open the gate for my husband who was sitting there in the motorhome waiting. I know that one bad experience does't define a company however this was beyond anything I have ever experienced in 60 years. I have never wanted to slap anyone else's child before but that little needed some attention. Not a good rep for the company. No personality or professionalism at all. I'm sure her...
