Please take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. They are very one sided and written by people who cannot and will not accept change. While the campground was sold at the end of last year, it is still a great place to be. The grounds are well kept, the pool is very nice and there are great activities (we just had our annual Halloween Weekend! It was a blast!) The campsites are lovely. With the sale came changes that some people could not adapt to. Some have gone out of their way to make things difficult. They are source of the toxic environment and they have kicked out due to their behavior or left of their own volition. It is really a pleasant place to be! We look forward to spending every weekend here. There have been hiccups along the way just as there were when the previous owners first bought the campground. It always takes a year or two for any business to iron things out, especially in the wake of long time owners. The complaints are coming from entitled people who did not want any changes and were under the misguided notion, that nothing would change. Business and life do not work that way. Come check us out and see for yourself what Pine Cove has to offer. We have been here 5 years and don't plan on leaving anytime soon., We love it! It is our happy place.
With re: to activities, in addition to the big Halloween weekend, we’ve had a couple of bands and food trucks, carry in dinners (both all camper sponsored and where the campground provided the meat), weekly Bingo, trivia nights, DJs and Karaoke, as well as others like a wreath making class. While true that some were run by other campers, i.e. bingo and Trivia, the bands, food trucks and carry in dinners were sponsored by the campground. The complainers chose not to participate in those activities. While the former owners would have had this season booked before opening, the new owners were behind the 8 ball and our new activities director worked hard to find entertainment that had availability. Several campers stepped up and offered to run bingo, trivia, etc. Next year’s activities are shaping up to be expanded! Many fun things are planned. Like I said before, it takes a year or two to get the new ball rolling. If you are looking for a family friendly campground, check...
Read moreI have been a loyal paying customer for the last 4 years. This fall our friends who have been there for 6 years were sent an email stating their contracts would not be renewed. Since camping friends are to us family we made the decision not to renew our contract for 2017 either. We all camped peacefully this weekend for the last time at Pine Cove. This morning I was awakened by a loud truck driving behind my camper at 7:00am. Quiet hours are strictly enforced unless you are the owner taunting us knowing we were leaving this morning. We finished packing up our belongings hooking up the trailer and began to pull out when the owner parked his truck in the middle of the only road out refusing to let us pass. Clinton County Sheriff's office was called and made him move his truck. Long story short this man is not a good business man or owner. He attempts to bully his customers into getting his way. I honesty feel very sorry for those left to deal with him.
In response to the request for the 1 star rating, while my family and were trying to leave this morning we were blocked, and held against our will. I hope that explains the negative review. Secondly, We were handed a bill last night about 8pm, the owner was told at that time we did not have a check with us and would mail the total amount due with the key cards. Funny thing this morning same said owner told the Sheriff that he was rushing to give us or final bill and that is why he peeled out throwing gravel.
I find it hilarious that the owners have to solicit positive reviews from other campers. Yes we saw the email sent to the campers. Once you figure out who sent it i guess their contact will not be renewed for 2018.
Updated response from the customer. Please provide what statement in my review is not factual. Was anyone from pine cove ownership or management other than the male owner present to witness the altercations? Please respond in an email, which is provided on my contract, the dates and times contract violations occurred by me or my family prior to October 15-17. Also provide the names of those I am in direct relation to or associated with who threatened physical harm and/or destruction of...
Read moreThe owners decided not to renew 3 contracts for the friends we camped next to. Once I found that out I decided not to stay as well. I let the owners know on my intentions and they told me to be paid in full and out by 10/31 at 5 pm. No problem. The owner came up to us last night at 8 pm and said here is your final bill I need this payment before you leave in the am with your camper. I politely told him in under contract until the end of the month and I don't have a check with me I would mail it to him.
Fast forward to this am. When I woke up he was sitting at his barn in his pickup truck. We proceeded to pack up and pull out. As I am starting to turn to leave my loop. He peels out shoots gravel every where and stops in the middle of the road. The only access to the exit. He comes walking up to me and said do you have my money. I said we discussed this last night I don't have a check. Will you please move. He said I'm sorry my truck is broken down. I explained to him he is holding me and my family against our will and I called the sheriff's. The sheriff's came and made him get his tractor and tow his out truck out of my way.
I am mortified that a business owner would treat loyal customers that way.
The kid friendly campground they advertise. Well I wish I can get a picture of the look on the kids face this am when all this was going on. Very heartbreaking. Bulling someone is no way to run a business.
The owner replying to all these people about registered guest. A joke the whole time I have camped here the owners have talked to myguest and I never had to register any of them.
My account was paid in full on December 26 2015 for the whole season. I owe the electric bill since August that is all I owe you. 200.50 cents is what I was held hostage for today.
Good luck in your futures very sad it came
I was asked back and once I choose not to come back I was treating like a criminal.
Let me explain what a review is. My opinion of my time at this business. Look at everyone that gave a negative reviews. The owner personally attacked each one of them. Just think how you will get treated if you deal with them...
