Why don’t we have the option to leave negative stars yet? Let's be real. Some businesses are so horrendous they don't even deserve one star. Why reward them for bad behavior, laziness that leads to filth and safety hazards, and conditions that could easily cause sickness? I used to let things slide. I wouldn't say a word about neglect and mistreatment from businesses. But when you or your family hit hard times and, despite your pride, you ask for help—only to be met with nasty attitudes and condescension—that's when things change. They don't even care that they're talking to a war veteran. No one asked this veteran to help his country. He saw the need and quietly risked his life for everyone's rights, including those hateful, demeaning people in the camp office. I highly doubt they've ever faced real hardship, even though they fraudulently claim they have. Real people who have been through tough times don’t treat others this way. Have you ever gone without food? Had your vehicle break down with no one to help because you have no family to call? No job because of the things you did for your country? Do you know what it’s like to cuddle a baby, trying to comfort them after the enemy blew up their parents, and then risk your life getting them to safety? Those nightmares don't go away. But after all that, you come home and get treated like garbage because people only see your struggles and judge you for them. No one asks if you’re okay. No one cares what veterans go through, as long as their own neat little lives aren’t disrupted. They hold onto their self-righteous attitudes, boosted by meaningless titles like “director” or “manager.” Meanwhile, they can’t even run a business. I have pictures and recordings of the way I’ve been treated here—disrespect, bullying, all of it. They pick and choose who they mistreat. People speeding around in golf carts or expensive cars get a pass, but the rest of us are fair game for their cruelty. One guy, some white-haired “host” in a blue cart, almost ran over me and my service animal because he wasn’t paying attention. Maybe instead of driving around aimlessly, he could clean the showers that no one else bothers to touch. There’s even a dangerous dead tree, a “widow maker,” hanging over a family’s campsite with two little boys playing nearby. No one has done anything about it. I watch and pray it doesn’t fall and hurt—or worse—kill them. Speaking of safety, a group of kids was riding their bikes all over the place, unsupervised, and bullying each other. There was a woman who walked into the men’s showers just as my husband was about to go in. He had to wait for her to leave before he could use the facility. Meanwhile, when I was showering, a man knocked on the door and just walked right in, even though my scooter was parked outside as a clear sign that someone was in there. The neglect doesn’t stop there. After a storm, I saw one man running around picking up limbs, while a truck full of “workers” did nothing but back into different campsites every 30 minutes or so. They even backed into the site with the widow maker and still didn’t do anything about it. And don’t get me started on the lawn care. They use junky zero-turn mowers, with no bags to catch the grass and debris. The operators speed through the campground, throwing sticks, rocks, and dirt everywhere. People and animals get pelted with it. I even saw a poor, terrified old dog trying to get away from the chaos. When I confronted one of the guys, he had the nerve to curse me out and tell me to mind my own business. Well, guess what, buddy—when you’re throwing debris all over my things and endangering people and animals, it is my business. I don't think it's too much to ask that people are treated with respect, and that basic cleanliness and safety standards are upheld. I'm filing a complaint with the ODNR, and while I won’t include anyone else’s names unless they ask me to, I wont hesitate to call out the unethical behavior I’ve seen. If anyone reading this has experienced the same, give me a like or follow so I know...
Read moregreat campground, bathrooms clean, nice beach, entertainment for guests (movies), store to purchase missing items, beautiful lake with boat rental, fishing Store: only one order/checkout ... we didn't buy what we wanted because 7 kids were choosing ice cream and it took forever. Men restroom near our lot: some fun guy locked both doors from inside. Later one door was broken open. Rest of our stay there was only one toilet available. (we didn't report it) Thank God it was not super crowded. Our lot: description said partial shade, but there was no shade. Cleanliness: People were permanently busy with cleaning the lots and paths. Boat rental (not in campground): was fun to take the boat and also fish from the boat. Fishing: no luck at all, but noone we talked to caught any fish that weekend either. War super hot. Beach: I'm not a super lake fan, but this was one of the nicest lakes. Sandy but solid ground. Zoned swim area. Cleanlines lake: at the campground beach was clean. At the fishing spots was frustrating. People don't clean up their trash. Fishing supply packages, beer cans, cigarette butts. Wow, people who like to be out in the nature don't care at all. Was very disappointing to fish surrounded by all the trash. Had to be creative with pictures, to make it look nice. (But this is not where the campground is) We will definitely come back to the...
