We arrived at the lovingly restored Maple Cove B&B on the last full day of Summer. After getting settled, we were able to sit by the pool where we relaxed as we admired our surroundings. The tree-studded, beautifully landscaped property is serene and a delightful place to wander. That evening it began to rain. From our vantage point from the Hemingway Suite, the sight was beautiful and the sound, restful and welcoming - as is every corner of this special B&B. (What's not to love about sitting in a window seat reading Hemingway's Short Stories!) Following an exquisite dinner at Victoria's Wine and Dine in Oxford, we returned to what we were already considering our “home away from home”. (I should note the entire house was adorned in festive decor of the season, which, loving fall as we do, was just perfect!) After a cozy night's sleep, we awoke to the first day of Autumn - and it did, indeed, feel like Autumn! The transition of seasons was made memorable by not only Jan's warm welcome the day before and her fine attention to detail, but by what was lying in wait ... one of her fabulous breakfasts! We chose to enjoy ours in the dining room, where we found the table beautifully prepared. Imagine having creations set before you that are not only visually enticing, but that cause one to try not to "Mmmm" after every bite! We took our time and enjoyed every moment. Jan was attentive, yet unobtrusive. She is a cheerful one-step-ahead-of-everything innkeeper. We look forward to meeting her husband, Mark, when we return and of course seeing their "crazy" -yet awesomely funny - dogs once again. Maple Cove B&B truly had it all and then some. We hope you'll find yourselves there one day, no matter the season!...

Some B&Bs call their rooms “suites” because the rooms are large or just because “suite” sounds more deluxe than “room," but the three king-bed suites at Maple Cove B&B really deliver on the concept. Multiple rooms and connecting hallways, also private, comprise your quarters.

The first-floor Casablanca Suite offers: a king bedroom; a spacious sitting room with a sofa, chair, mini-fridge, coffee table and a bar-height table with two stools; a dressing room/closet, and down the hall, a bathroom with a gorgeous sink, soaking tub, skylight, and an enclosed water closet and large shower. Very clean, beautifully decorated.

We could have chosen the charming Plantation Suite upstairs, whose sitting room has two comfy chairs with ottomans and, above a long, upholstered window seat, beautiful windows overlooking trees, but the shower in the Casablanca suite won my husband’s vote. That and the fact that a full-size pool table was right outside our door.

Breakfast both mornings was outstanding. On the second morning, the other couple dining with us had requested a vegan, gluten-free breakfast. The four of us enjoyed the same fruit course, but although we would not have minded a vegan, g-f menu, innkeeper Jan made separate entrees and baked goods for the two couples. That was a lot of work, yet she made it look effortless.

My husband and I live less than 90 minutes away, but we took a road trip to enjoy the holiday lights and sights in the nearby towns of Rochester, Oxford and Lake Orion. This North Oakland County location...

This is a must experience. Situated away from city areas, you'll get the feel of being in the country. The property is gorgeous, with multiple places to walk, explore, sit and take it all in. We loved having coffee and tea and meals outside on the covered patio. The entire house is well thought out with gorgeous, welcoming details. Each room is a generous size with sitting rooms, a bathroom and a mini fridge. There is a generous pantry and beautiful shared space available to enjoy. The pool is clean and a serene oasis. Jan and Mark (the owners) are kind, thoughtful, attentive and also will give you your privacy. We loved every minute of our stay and will certainly return! On our second visit, Jan and Mark provided a wonderful experience again! Meals were beautiful, filling and delicious. We chose to eat in suite this time, which was really enjoyable. We loved visiting with the Innkeepers pups, who are friendly and sweet. The pool was perfect, water warm enough, with plenty of seating choices even with other guests. Loved having the contactless, keycode entry and accessible hand sanitizer throughout main areas of the house. The sweet baked treats were a welcome surprise. Jan and Mark were accommodating of a gluten allergy. We will definitely plan additional...

We came to Leonard to attend a family reunion at a nearby campground. My companion was my 94-year-old Mom who started the annual traveling reunion 30 years ago. As she was recently admitted into Hospice, this will be her last, and I chose Maple Cove for its proximity and lush accommodations. This was a treat that did not disappoint. The Casablanca Suite—on the first floor—was perfect for our needs. I pride myself in having a cozy bed at home, but the Maple Cove mattress and bedding were dream worthy. The breakfasts, which we opted to have in our suite, were gourmet, and the presentation was as notable as the taste. Innkeeper Jan was lovely, and was there for every need but never intrusive. Our Maple Cove stay was a significant part of this poignant reunion, and put a cherry on top of the remarkable life of a very beloved woman.

Fantastic Old Farmhouse B&B Just a lovely old, 1910, farmhouse lovingly restored into a fantastic B&B. Jan texted us our entry code the day of our arrival and we were able to pull under the entry portico to unload our suitcases. We stayed in the first floor Casablanca Suite off of the common area. It had a large comfortable chicly decorated den, a large bedroom with a very comfortable king bed. The linens and towels were extremely soft. The bathroom had a very large tub and shower with a standard and hand held shower head. Sheila loved the skylight. After a wonderful nights sleep Jan served us lemon ricotta pancake with blueberry compote and lemon curd, scrambled egg, link sausage, fruit, and a blueberry muffin. The B&B is out in the country without being too terribly far from town. Food and service was awesome.

Maple Cove Bed & Breakfast was the most wonderful place I have ever stayed. The hospitality is outstanding, and the atmosphere so cozy and inviting! The owners went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our stay memorable. And the breakfast. The BREAKFAST. Oh my food heaven! To say that the food was delicious, sensational, exquisite and absolutely drool worthy would be understatement, because one has to experience it to realize how marvelous it actually is. Truly a phenomenal place! We stayed here for a one year anniversary and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. We stayed in the Plantation Suite and it was an absolute dream. We did not get to meet Jan but we are both in agreement that Mark is the nicest, kindest person we have ever met. We are in love with this place and will most definitely be back!
