Very disappointed in this campground stay. This is a campground for seasonal only or back lot tent campers, not short stay small RV campers. We were directed to a site with standing water and mud puddles. Smelled of sewage with the last campers items (they had moved to a different site) still piled up on the site. We were then left to back in between 2 trees in the mud. After sinking in the mud multiple times, we eventually found some boards to cover the worst of the mud. (office closed and no one to help) Finally in and set up, went to visit a nearby site only to return to the camper having slid forward in the mud (moving the chalks with it) to bend 2 of our stabilizers. No one to be found (office was closed the entire time) to help us. Expensive experience that could have been avoided had the campground filled the site with gravel to help with their mud and drainage issues. The entire stay, we only had contact with the guy assigning us the site for the few minutes he was available. No sign in information, campground info, receipt nor office...
Read moreI stumbled upon this campground when looking for a place to stay in Middlebury. With hotels all booked and not owning a tent, I was thrilled to get one of their lean-to's - not your typical lean-to at all, rustic but screened in with a deck, fire ring, water, electricity and shade - fantastic! The campground is on Lake Champlain in Addison, not sure why TripAdvisor is saying Vergennes. As others noted, a lovely family bought it recently and they put on different events on the weekends, such as a pig roast last weekend for a donation of $5/person, can't get better than that. While other campgrounds in the area were large and elaborate, I really appreciated the fact it was small and quaint - everyone seems to obey the speed limit and quiet hours. The family sells ice and beer among other things; lovely pool on-site; no quarters needed for the shower; a restaurant a mile up the street. And, as others mentioned, an easy ride to Middlebury & the Fort Ticonderoga. Thank you for a...
Read moreTerrible campground, our site was completely waterlogged. Step out of your camper into mud. I understand we have had a lot of rain lately but little to no effort to manage it and clean up the sites. I needed to be in 4 wheel drive just to back in the camper. Never been on a site that was so far out of level. We came to kayak (as advertised) and you can't take your kayak across the road to put it into the lake as the docks are not accessible due to poor or no maintenance, a complete mess and unsafe. So much false advertising. We had booked for 3 nights & will leave after our first one. The owner was unfriendly and unwilling to refund even one night. When we checked in the young man even said people are leaving and not staying for their booked nights. That was a red flag, and we will be doing the same. To top it off it smells like...
