No hook up camping (dry camping) in a seaside spot for $30 per night. Lots of traffic going by out to the spit. Feels like the city could spend some of this money to grade the entry and put down some gravel. Major potholes driving in and ponds in the campsites after the rain. Lovely views, beach walking, Tsumami drill from a nearby earthquake! Self pay and no sign of the host particularly.

Clean and well kept. Active security watches everything. A few bear sightings which I think is cool. I wish they had on site water at the rv sites because the potable water station is really slow.

Absolute great camping experience great price per night. Fishing the Kenai River produced an abundance of world famous sockeye salmon.

here is the deal and its long!!!!! this campground gets a bad rap. mostly from folks who are KOA kind, and ya should have made proper reservations is all I can say. but that's why you ended up at centennial . the talk of homeless folks seems irrelevant. the entire city has a huge homeless problem. I mean its everywhere. first for me and I've been in a lot of shady areas. the campground is mostly a nice campground. level spots. offers dry camping and electric sites for a very reasonable price if your needing convenient to anchorage area in the spur of the moment . we stated 4 nites with no issues,, but we also lock up. I appreciated the codes to get in the bathrooms for showers. not the cleanest but not the worst either. so do like old campers do and bring shower shoes. there is a onsite security guard that doesn't let folks in without a reservation. he does drive around. he also let everyone know they changed the bathroom code, and they do so every few days. keeps the place from becoming a homeless encampment again. we needed the amenities of anchorage. groceries, restocking, I needed shoes. lol and we had a train trip booked. no campers allowed in the train station parking lot. and there is a homeless encampment right on the hill beside it. not sure how that works. at least at the campground they have a bit of a hike to do anything. there they just have to walk down the hill. I think they are trying very hard to keep the campground safe and a place to stay for you if your traveling. eagle river yes is up the road. but you'll need reservations. so pre planning is necessary. we are very much enjoying our leisure with limited reservations. to enjoy all alaska...

Pretty run down campground. Doesn't matter if you're country or city, this place is a dive. Nobody is asking for the Ritz when they go camping, but I don't think anyone wants to stay at the Europa either. its neighbouring to a homeless camp which attracts a vagrant population to their free "showers" and bathrooms....honestly, and I'm not trying to be dramatic, but the showers were what ibwould think of when I imagine what a prison shower would be like, the bathroom stalls don't close; for the less than 24 hrs we were there, it was an absolute mess, perhaps the caretaker was on holiday. The playground provides the guise of being family friendly, but unless you want to spend your family vacation surrounded by people with mental health and addiction problems (seriously), I would advise to stay else where. With that said, I will say, the campsites themselves were good size, well kept. Again, unfortunately your clientele screws it up for anyone other than those going up for an all nighter, as the knuckleheads across from us were up late-2am- with fireworks and car troubles. They told us they live there. Sweet digs. Just a fair heads up to any families that's all. Nothing personal to the staff, they were friendly and great, good prices. Just figure there should be fair warning this isn't the spot for the Griswold...

From everyone I had talked tot before and from looking online, this campground offered electric. I stayed there for one night in June 2013 and they were under construction on all the electric camp sights. They only offered dry camping with the same fee of $25 with electric but there was non. They only had one of there two bathroom/shower facilites in use. The camp sights area all tightly packed together. Fire pits were nice and clean but you could not use them becuase there was a extremely high fire warning. At 11:30pm there was a few campers on the other side of the campground do some hammering of some kind that echoed all throughout the campgound. I watched the campground host walk right by there camp and not say anything. I had to ask if they had a policy to keep the noise down after a certain time and all he said was he'd go back and talk to the other campers making the noise. We also had to go to work the next morning and asked if we could leave our camper there the day we were suppose to check out which check out is at noon, and pick up the camper after work which was about 5. I got back back to camp around 4 on check out day and there was a notice on the camper saying we had to pay to camp here a second night, which we had no...
