Honestly a little overpriced. Most recreational area are $20. This one is $25 for reasons I don't know. The places are leveled for RV which is a plus, but we are all on each other, no privacy. It's pretty close to the lake so you can go fishing or kayaking. However we were woken up at 5am by what it seems like youngsters being stupid and making a lot of Noise with their car and music and screaming... I wish there'd be someone or something to prevent them from coming in at night. I don't think we'll come back

Perfect spot to pull over and jump in the water. There's a fishing dock, another dock to jump off of about 6 feet above the water, and a walkway down to the waters edge where you can get on your kayak/paddleboard and enjoy the lake. There's a small island in the middle where you can lay out in the sun and enjoy the sounds of everyone having a good time. The mountains over the tree line help remind you that you're in Alaska. Haven't found a ropeswing yet but I'm not giving up hope yet!!

This campground has regularly cleaned restrooms. Sites are large & private. Trees close enough for tie-downs of tarps. Pet friendly, & nice fire ring & picnic tables. No playground but none needed with forrest & lake surrounding campground. We had a beautiful & awesome time.

Tent camping review. I needed a place to stay between Anchorage and Glen Allen. We actually ended up staying here two separate times- on our way North east and coming back South West. This State Rec Area is extremely clean. It's nice that there are tent sites separated from their RV sites (nothing worse than being in a tent and stuck hearing an RV's generator or TV all night). The RV lot is basically a parking lot but without many other options it would probably do the trick for an RV. The tent sites in the back are great. They are huge and have privacy between them. There's a vault toilet which is kept clean. No services or amenities but it's not far to the town of palmer. Despite being right off the state route, it stays pretty quiet from the road traffic because of all the trees. There's a pay station to pay when you arrive and pick your site. This was perfect in the shoulder season and...
